Found an aftermarket remote start on Amazon for $96 simple install (2 plugs) and works with 2 button key fob. Got the diesel specific one that has delay for the grid heater to do its thing.

I remote start it and let it high idle for about 10 minutes.

At that point, given a 37 - 40 degree F ambient temp, engine coolant is at about 130 degrees and the warm air has just started to emerge from the vents.

If it gets colder, I can run the Remote Start for 15 minutes, then engage the Remote Start a second time for an additional 15 minutes.

Will it go to high idle by itself after a remote start?

What polecat said. Turn on EB, it’ll heat up faster.

I park in a garage at home so okay for quick heat when leaving for work.
During the day, I use command start for a warm up. It’ll go into high idle after a few seconds.
I love the heated seats and heated steering wheel in my truck!
