Does your truck feel like it has a tire out of balance when you reach a speed between 70 and 80 MPH?

Since new, my truck has had a shaking issue which feels like the rear tires are out of balance. I have had the tires balanced three times with no improvement. If I drive up to 70MPH and stay between 70 and 75 MPH my truck will feel like one of the rear tires is out of balance.

Until this morning when I read another members post with the same issues I believed the issue was the stock firestone tires and had resolved to replacing them. It appears FCA may be aware of this issue and I would like to know if there is a fix.

Mine does the same (ever so slightly)but I'm running 37 12.5 20's so I like you attributed it to a wheel out of balance.

Just went through this with my new 2016. I have a Load Range E 10 ply tires. Always a gamble on balancing such a heavy tire. My truck came with at least one bad tire. The wheels were balanced five times before I got them acceptable. At Factory (bad), Discount Tire (made even worse), Dealer roadforce (some improvement), Local Tire Shop roadforce (made worse than all before), and finally the Dealer rebalanced and road forced and did test drive repeatedly until they got it right (now acceptable).

All that to say you can't rely on the machine to say 0.00/0.00 on the balancer and the tires actually be balanced. You can have a bad tire (high spot), bad wheel, issues with the truck, and a tech who doesn't understand how to use a road force balancer or a combination of all.

I have a slight shake at 70-72mph. I know mine is a balance issue though. It happened the moment I had new tires installed, and I had them re-balanced twice since they were mounted and balanced when I bought them. I had Michelins installed, and I told the guy at Discount Tire, that if he couldn't get them balanced this time around, I wanted different tires. They are ok now. As ****** as the Transforce tires were, they never shaked.

my duratracs would not stay balanced either.had a bad wobble even at slower speeds.probably closer to 50. it was so bad i thought there was no way it was a tire,i thought i had a bad brake.i took the truck back to the dealer and had them go over it.turns out it was the tire and i ended up rebalancing the same tire every 3 months. i kept losing weights on the bad tire.my nitto's were balanced once ,the day i put them on over a year ago,no wobble at all,at any speed.that's a 33 m/t load range e.

Yea, my truck shakes between 73 and 76 mph, with stock or after market tires/wheels. They have been re-balanced and it does not change. It's not terrible so I live with it, and don't drive 73 to 76 mph if I can avoid it.

Nothing here.
But I was going to add, how many with the problem have lifted, leveled or installed aftermarket rims.
Changing tires out soon, so I hope I do not go through tire issues.....I remember shifting belt issues on my old 06 1500, it was PITA.

My truck has what feels like a tire balance issue at freeway speed's, 60-65+, it has 1090 miles on it and it's completely stock. I plan on taking it back to the dealer to make them re-balance the tires after deer season.

My Toyo RTs 275/65/20 good up to 100. I don't go fast because of the tire rating haha. Got them balanced at a Goodyear recommended by the Online co I bought my tires and wheels from.

Mine did. Turns out the tire bubba screwed up the balancing at last rotation. Shop manager made good and had his best guy rebalance all four. No wobble all the way up to the point where I start to worry about reckless charges and slow down.

I just found a thread on a different RAM site that is discussing this exact issue. FYI, that thread is over 100 pages and no one has found an answer.

Tires have been balanced and replaced, rims have been replaced, driveshafts have been replaced, axles have been shimmed and axles have been replaced.

Dealerships are stumped, RAM Engineering has no answers and some have reported buy backs.

I am not sure what the rules are for posting a link to another forum site. So unless someone tells me I can post a link to that forum thread then I won't.

However, I will say the forum is a 'Cummins Forum' and the thread talks about 'Highway Vibration', 'Generally' speaking.

A vibration in a 2500 and a vibration in a 1500 are more than likely going to be completely different issues. Tires will most likely be different, suspension is different. Two completely different animals.
