EGR & Transmission solenoid issues

I just brought my 2016 RAM 6.4l in for the first time to update software and they found an EGR & transmission solenoid update. The truck has 2300 miles on it so far. Anyone know what updates are related to? My truck will be back tomorrow. The EGR may have been causing my rich starts (after being warm), but not sure what the solenoid would be related to. Anyone know what this is about? Thanks.

The EGR should be closed on start up and should only be open when the combustion temps get hot enough to create NOx which is around 2,500°F. Most modern engines are programmed to run rich on cold starts to warm up the catalytic converter quicker.

The transmission solenoid update probably had to do with either shift timing or shift pressure since that is what the shift solenoid controls.
