A Wal Mart in the Dayton Ohio area is now carrying Penzoil Syn. 0W~40. I figured at some point it would get more plentiful since there are so many vehicles using this now. 5qt. jug $22.47.
I was just getting ready to order some more off of Amazon for more than twice that.
Keep your eyes open I am sure most Wally World's will be carrying this within the next 6 months.

Dannnng! I will have to check next time im at wal mart in Fremont, OH I bet they will have it too. I just might quit using amsoil for that price. Once a year oil change for under 40 bucks aint bad. Now thats low maintenance cost right there!

Yeah currently I only put on about 12,000mi. a year so I change oil in the spring & fall on this vehicle.
I almost went into hoarder mode with the stuff but they had a whole row of it so I figure they are going to keep it on the self regularly. Did take a couple jugs though.:naughty: I usually only put in 5 or 6qts. & then top it off with Lucas Synthetic Stabilizer.
I got a few Wix filters when O'Riley's had them on sale.
Guess I know what will happen when I get an open weekend!

It's NOT the Ultra 0w40...Read the back of the bottle...Does not have the Chrysler MS code # for the 6.4 motor...New Yellow Bottles...

Now....The 20 wt and 30wt Platinum in the new yellow bottles does have the Chrysler MS code #

Was at my local Wally today getting my snow tires swapped out. So, I took the time to research the new yellow bottle platinum products...

Full synthetic & correct weight so I am going for it! Might bite me in the butt, but I have a feeling the other is :bs: to get more $$$ from us. I personally think the weight is the biggest thing to respect here.

Actually no the SRT 0w40 Ultra Platinum is really good oil. The add pack is second only to Redline

Anything euro is going to run thicker in the labeled viscosity than the US counterpart. It's definitely a good oil I just don't know if it's a good oil for the SRT hemi or the 6.4 hemi.

Keep in mind the Pennzoil Ultra 0w40 was specifically formulated by Pennzoil for the SRT Hemi's.

Thanks for the info! I know that when I switched to 0w-40 Castrol it quieted down my engine immediately, especially during cold starts (this 6.4L can sound like a farm tractor when started cold).

Not sure if that means it's any better than the factory fill, but this is my experience.

I agree....What I would do is shorten the time between oil changes...I'm tooo old school to go any longer than a 5k O.C.I.

Yeah I have heard of people pulling oil samples after a year & all was good. Just can't get myself to go too long either.
Trucking company I used to drive for would go 90,000 miles before changing in all of their tractors. They would sample it around 8~10,000, if it showed up ok, they would throw new filters on & top it off.
