what are you guys using for gear oil? finding a synthetic gear oil that doesnt have the friction modifier in it is almost impossible. i remember mobil one used to have 75w-90 both with and without the addtive. doesnt seem like they have it without anymore. every brand im coming across says it has it (unless im missing something), with the exception of mopar fluid and mobil delvac 1. i could swear i remember reading that you shouldnt use a friction modifier in a torsen diff, but all these fluids that seem to have the modifier in it already would lead me to believe people are using it without issue and im overthinking this.

Either go to the dealer or just use whatever, the friction modifyer won't hurt anything.

thats what ive always thought in the past. i read something that made me second guess myself and i shouldnt have. right on torsens website it says the use of friction modifiers in their differentials (though not required) is ok.

Well, it comes from the factory with 75w90 synthetic and if you are going to change it more often than the factory recommends anyway its not like spending big bucks will gain you much.
