Looking for some good helper bags for a 2016 2500 tradesman...just want to keep it from sagging so much when hauling a heavy load that might be too front loaded. I only have about 1.25" of rake at the moment, and with a heavy load last weekend it was noticeable lower in the rear...don't like that. Any help is appreciated, personal experience preferred.

Firestone 5000s - have run them on 2 trucks and couldn't be happier. I can put thousands of pounds in the bed with almost no squat if desired. You can air them up from 0-100 psi depending on how much you need/want.

There are a couple of other brands that are very similar. My only advice is to stay away from the super-cheapie inside the coil type. From what I've read these are VERY minimal and not that much less $$. They may help for a 1/2 ton but with your HD go for the real deal.

The Airlift 5000's are really nice too. If you get them with the internal jounce, they will also provide a spring bumper to help prevent you from bottoming out when the bag is deflated. They also have a lifetime warranty too.

If I need to add bags to my 3500, it will be the Airlift 5000's.

Definitely air lift 5000s. I've ran them on my 1500 and they are awesome. Will definitely be adding these to my 2500 if I don't upgrade the springs

Firestones with Daystar cradles. Or timbrens that you install when towing.

Why Daystar cradles? The short search I did of that setup says that the Daystar cradles don't totally fit the bags, that you need a little spacer.

What the hell do you guys put in the back of these trucks that require bags?

Batteries. Trailer full of batteries. Don't want it to squat in the back so I'd rather have some helper bags to keep it from sagging too much.

If you contact SD Truck Springs, they will discuss the current suspension issues you are trying to remedy. When I reached out to them I was looking at 2 options that were $225-300, and the guy recommended a $89 alternative. I followed his recommendation, and was very happy with the result. That was on my half ton though. If I need anything for my 3500, I will go through SD Truck Springs and it will be the Airlift 5000's.

Whatever you go with, good luck.

Because you have to run a minimum 5psi in bags and it effects your unloaded ride quality. The cradles let's you push out all the air when not in use and the bags won't rip if you fully cycle the suspension. You don't need the spacer.

I had the airlift 5000 ultimate in my F150 and they were great. If you get the ultimate, you do not need to run any air in them when unloaded...

That's what I was thinking. I put 1,450lbs. in the back of mine for work & by looking at it you couldn't tell I put anything in there. It did ride much better though.:happy107:

OP has Power Wagon rear springs, they have a lower carrying capacity. If you search Cummins Forum you will find this comes up frequently when guys run Carli or Thuren rear coils. The recommendation is generally airbags with Daystar cradles or Timbrens.

I had Firestone Ride Rites in my 1500. Go with the 5000s for what your doing. Either brand, theyre the same.

I had a 64-gun safe in the back of my 3500 SRW this past weekend, and you couldn't even tell it was carrying anything. Didn't change the ride any either. I don't think I'll need the airbags until the leaf Springs start to fatigue.

Maybe I'll just trade in the truck by then.
