I am really liking the Fab Fours rack they have. I kind of like them with the support bars with them but am afraid that might make them look too much like an 80's roll bar set up.
Anybody have the on a truck? Like them?
I seen just the bar on a new 2017 2500 & it look real good. Didn't stick up too far, matched up with the cab design well.
Adding the lights to it would help hooking up my boat & utility trailer.

Buddy and I made ours. Well, him more than me. Lol

He's the welder, I cut the pieces and painted it. Here's a pic before the lights were added.

Looks great! I would really like to do that. I work at a aluminum distributor & could get a lot of material cheap. Only issue is I am really rusty with the welder & I currently don't have one.
It would be cheaper & one of those things that you could say "yeah I built that!" :)

I would love to have made that out of aluminum.
Problem is it takes a different type of welder that my buddy doesn't have, plus I believe it takes alot longer to properly weld aluminum.

So even if I got the stuff cheap, the welding would have cost quite a bit.

Yep I agree.
I really like the Fab Four rack. Kind of a crossover between a headache rack & roll bar. I usually don't like buying things with out some rating/feedback. This is apparently new enough that it doesn't have any reviews yet.
Seeing it on a new 2500 at a dealers lot helped. More sturdy than I thought it would be. Looks really good too. Really expensive too!

I installed my headache rack a few days too late. I didn't want to put one on my truck because to the 'look' as well. but eventually the risk with the constant use of my truck bed was too high. so I ordered one, 2 days before it arrived, I broke my rear window. Now it has a temporary plexiglass panel. When it comes time to sell the truck in 5 or so years, should be a lot smaller resale issue. OEM replacement just isn't in the budget right now.
