Hi y'all..I have a 2013 Ram 2500HD, and I am wanting a smoother ride. It has a daystar 1.5 leveling kit on the front, procomp shocks on the front, and kyb's on the back. What are the best shocks for a smoother ride?

How much are you willing to spend? King shicks come to mind if you want top of the line, however that will run you a lot of money!

I believe you'll get many different answers to this....shocks seems to be very opinion based. I have Bilstein 5100's all the way around on my 2014. Smoothed out the ride, bumps are firm but controlled, not whippy anymore. Off road on dirt roads, they are much much better than stock. I don't know if your going to find that perfect smooth ride from just shocks. Have you looked at new coils? Thuren is supposed to have coils that provide a smoother ride. Pair them with a good set of aftermarket shocks and folks say its the cats meow in a heavy duty truck as far as a smooth ride is concerned....

I have the 5100s also and love them. If you noticed an improvement from stock when you swapped thats probably the best its gonna get. Remember you cant have it all in a truck. You want the payload its gonna be stiff.

Shocks and tire pressure, yours is 2013 so I think you have leaf springs in the back, that will make it a little rougher than the 2014+ with 4 corner coils

3/4 ton truck will only ride so smooth..... to a large extent there is not much you can do. The load carrying capacity of an HD truck and a smooth ride are hard to find in the same vehicle.

I agree. Tire pressure has a huge effect on ride quality. If you are not towing/hauling heavy loads everyday, try lowering your pressure. Try the free stuff first.

Having owned several 3/4 ton heavy duty trucks (mostly dodge but a chevy and 2 fords), it is the nature of the beast. These trucks get crummy mpg (gas) and ride rough. I have spent money on different shocks, tried different tires, and the end result was a rough ride. They can never ride as good as a 1/2 ton....but they can tow like crazy!!

Your wheel size also plays a huge role in your ride quality. smaller rim and bigger tire combination will give you a taller sidewall and the most isolation from the road if u keep the pressure on the low side. Also, hydrolic shocks generally ride smoother than the gas charged ones.
