WOW!! I wish I was hitting even 15 on the evic. The best I get is mid 12's. True average is 11.4 on the EVIC driving very conservatively. So -2 is a ****** 9.4 mpg...FK me!

That's empty, with 50/50 city/hwy driving. Course, that's with 3.73s and 295/65r20 Nitto Trail Grapplers. So larger diameter tires that are heavy as hell and a lot more rolling resistance. But still, I wasn't expecting the mileage to be so bad. Next set of tires might be going smaller.

My last highway trip was 140 miles from San Antonio to Corpus doing about 70 - 75 and my evic showed 12.8 mpg.

Did you re-calibrate your speedo for the larger diameter tires? If not, your speedo and odometer are off which means your EVIC and handcalculations are way off too.

I just took that trip this past weekend to Rockport.

Yeah, the dealership was supposed to recalibrate for the larger tires. BUT, there's no way to know for sure unless I take it to another dealership and pay $60 to verify, so....

I don't even want to know your mileage to Ropckport - with the 6.7 it might make me sick to see those #s :puke:

They have some speedo apps that uses your phones GPS if you want to verify if your speedo is correct. I know every time I have tried to calibrate my speedo with tuners, it takes me a few tries to get it right even when I select my tires size. Then there is the fact that you will loose tire diameter as the tread wears on aggressive tires.

The dealer doesn't have the ability to change to a larger than stock tire diameter.

Easiest way to check is to use a GPS.....if you are not calibrated with 37s you will know it. With 35s I am consistently off by ~2 mph depending on speed. The trucks GPS, a phone, a garmin etc. can at least let you know if the calibration is right and/or how much you need to correct by.

I just did a bunch of km's on the highway and before filling up I was approaching 800 km to that tank of fuel since last reset....and I still had some gas in the tank.
That works out to about 15 liters per 100 km or just shy of 19 miles to the gallon.
I was not towing anything, just the family & some gear.
Not too bad for a HD truck!

That is 19 miles per imperial gallon. It would 15.6 miles to the US gallon. Still not bad.

I don't know about these newer trucks, but I had Ubersox Chrysler recalibrate the speedo on my '98 Ram 2500 when I put on larger tires.

Holy crap, that's terrible. With the 6.4 with stock tires and 3.73 gears, I can cruise at 80 and still get 16-16.5 on the evic depending on the wind and hills.

With mine. It's stayed pretty consistent (unlike my Chevy prior) last month, did a 650 mile trip again with some scooter/pit bikes in the bed, ran 80-90 (in Mexico of course [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]) and averaged 18.5 mpg on the dash, or 16.7 on paper, and unloaded, country driving the speed limits, 17-19mpg on the dash, or 15.5-17 on paper. Running 87octane with 10% ethanol

I am guessing that the 80-90 in Mexico was km/h which is 50-55 mph?

Well if that's the case. Then I was running 130-140km

I am surprised they let you go that fast. Every time I have been to Mexico(which is a lot), the fastest speed limit I have ever seen was 110 km/h (68 mph) and that is only on certain highways. Most highways are 100km/h (62 mph). Usually the Policia down there enforce those speeds like something fierce and will pull you over for even going a km/h or two over. Especially in a big luxurious truck with American plates.

Southern Texan "going to Mexico" is Internet slang for street racers. They say they raced in "mexico" to supposedly not have liability when posting race videos on YouTube.

Ah, learned something new. Thank you.

I kind off thought 16.7 mpg was BS for doing 80-90 mph and wanted to give the benefit of the doubt thinking he was talking about 80-90 km/h. Thanks for clarification!
