I poured an extra concrete bay on the side of my driveway where I park my truck. It's fairly steep uphill and I always back in due to the tight turn when exiting. The other day I was low on fuel, showing about 60 miles till empty on the dash. When I came out the next morning the fuel gauge showed empty and it wouldn't start, just crank crank crank. I put it in neutral and coasted onto the level road, let it sit for a minute then fired right up.

I have been able to reproduce this issue and can even get it to show a greater quantity if I pull in uphill. Just wanted to let you all know in case this is news to people and see if anyone else has experienced this phenomenon.

Here's a picture to show the grade of the hill. I would estimate it at about a 15% grade.

This is on a 2016 2500 with the 6.4. 8fbc692ae5f38d4b5d8788887bc40715.jpg

Noted! My driveway is sorta steep but not that much. Good info though as sometimes I don't feel like filling up a 5am! Love that color man

Don't park down hill when you're low on fuel. Good to know.

My driveway is typical flat Florida residential slope (just enough for drainage, probably 1-2% at most) but I've noticed distance to empty always goes up after I pull out of the drive and get to the end of the street. I always back in too because too many people park on the street and I'd run them over backing out.

I always back my truck in on my sloped driveway. I've had it on LOW FUEL before and it's never done this. The only thing it does is shut itself off if I remote start it.

Been there done it twice in front of my house, just coast down to the bottom of the street and start it up, the crazy thing is it usually shows around 1/4 tank before I park.
