What's the skinny on the maintenance package for Ram diesels? Is it 7500 miles intervals or 15K?

My dash computer says I'm at 50% for fuel filter and oil life, but the dealer printed out a sheet that showed 7500 mile service intervals. I'm at 7200 miles. He said I could look up the specifics online, but I can't find anything.

I just don't want to take it in for service next week only to have them say I owe $350 when I pick it up.

Dealers create their own schedules designed for their profit and not for your truck. Look in your owners' manual (diesel supplement) for scheduled maintenance, everything you need to know there.

What is a "maintenance package"? Is this something your dealer is offering you?

Thanks. It's an FCA service pkg that covers 5 years/60K miles worth of services. The service dealer I use printed out a schedule that started at 7500 miles. I just didn't want charged for an early service if I take it in now at 7500 miles.

Since this is the first change I would go ahead & take it in. I always like doing the first one early to get out any break in metal.

Curt, too bad you don't know anyone with a CTD you could ask...

15,000 miles or 6 months for oil changes. 15,000 miles for fuel filters. You and I can change the oil for about $60, fuel filters are about $100 and I've got the 28mm socket needed to change the front filter. If I find out you paid $300 to get your oil changed, I'm never camping with you again...
