After 6,000 miles I hate the stock 18 inch firestone tires on my truck. The wife and I were driving in a pretty good Thunderstorm & down pour we hit a big ass rain puddle on the highway going 50-55 mph and almost lost it.Considering the 18 inch Michelin defender LTX/MS.Anyone running these tires on your truck? If so how do you like them? Thanks :happy107:

I have the Michelin LTX AT2's and I only have about 2,000 miles on them. So far I like them. I haven't gone through any big puddles, but they seem to drive great in the rain.

Just got off the phone with a rep from discounttiredirect and he quoted me $210.00 each for 6 new Michelin LTX M/S 2 235/80R17's - $1260.00. No tax and free delivery! Found a PepBoy ad for them at $213.99, but after local tax they'd be $1373.82. So a savings of $113.82. Only downside - lol, still gotta get them mounted and thinking roadforce balancing isn't cheap on top of mounting.

I looked into the Defenders and the only turnoff was in a 10-ply E there is no mileage rating. I was initially drawn to them because of the 80K rating they were bragging about. I have previously run numerous sets of LTX MS/2 and been pretty happy. I ended up going with a Toyo 4-season - snowflake rating and all season. Kind of nice to not have to worry about swapping tires to go over the mountain passes during winter. I'm coming up on a year with them and am super happy. Not sure about the tread life yet though.

Wow! That's super cheap - I just did a quick quote online and my "out the door" price was $979. E-rated 275 18" ???

I also see now they have a 50K mileage rating. I had looked a couple years ago when they first came out.

I had those on my 1500 and love them, man those are some of the smoothest riding tires I had.

Please NOTE:that $604 price was with trade in of my stock firestone tires.

Ah, that makes more sense. The fact that someone gave you actual money for those crappy round rubber like objects is truly amazing. I wouldn't let my kids use one for a tire swing :)
