Cheeseballs, or anyone else for that matter that has a 6.4lL2500... I saw in that pic the retractable steps...in that factory, or was that an addon? Who makes them, because I want to check it out.

Nope, factory only has the regular steps (which i have). I like those fancy retractable steps though.:favorites13:

Looking at upgrading from 2013 1500 with hemi to 2500. Going be pulling a trailer roughly 9000 lbs loaded travel trailer and not sure 6.4 or cummins. Any of you pull with yours have any input. Like the truck btw

Haven't towed yet but I have a trip planned in a month where I'll be towing my 27 foot toy hauler weighing around 10k loaded. I'll definitely report on my towing experience after that! If you go 6.4 you really should get 4.10 gears.

Would 4.10 be needed if only pulling every so often. What's the major difference on 3.73 and 4.10 for more daily driving and look forward to your review when pulling

What transmission and gears do you have in your 1500? If you have the 8 speed and you want closer to the same feel get the 4.10's. With 3.73s the 6.4 is a little slow off the line because it doesn't have that deep 1st gear like the 8 speed does. If you have a 6 speed though you won't notice as much difference.

I have 3.55 with 6 speed. I have the black express package 1500. Still torn between 6.4 and cummins. Our new travel trailer we are getting shortly will be almost maxing out the 1500 and I'm tired of the 8.5 I get now pulling. So I know it will be worse.

If you have the money for the Cummins buy it, but don't buy it expecting to save money. You are spending about $8000 more so you would have to pull that trailer all of the time to ever come close to making that money back. Without a doubt it will be more effortless to tow with. It all comes down to how often you tow. I would imagine that the mileage wouldn't be worse than your 1500 but I can't say for sure. There is a thread on here of a member towing a 10k 5th wheel with a 6.4 2500 and he was getting between 9 and 11 mpg's.

I actually was like, oh darn I wish I'd gotten the 6.4 and saved all that money! Sold the Cummins which I owed money on and own the 6.4 free and clear! :roflsquared:

I get about 8-9 usually towing my Hideout 31BHS. You can clearly see my trips on the fuelly graph. It usually weighs in at 7800lbs. The 6.4 tows it just fine. I usually got about 10mpg with my old Duramax towing.

We just picked up a 2014 6.4L Laramie about a month ago and it is getting 13.7 mpg with about 1700 miles on the clock. It is a crew cab 4x4 with the 4.10 gears.

I want to join! I just picked up a 2014 Laramie Power Wagon and added Amp Steps and tint. They are a must have.
Do you get any rattle from your AMP steps? I swear when I'm on a rough road I hear the steps rattling... Maybe I'm just crazy...
