Signed for supplies to service a cummins today...
$169 for filters (oil, fuel x2, air)
$48 for oil

PUP 0w-40 doesn't seem so outrageous anymore.

I switched over to castrol synthetic. Picked up three 5 qt jugs on special for $23ish each at Wal Mart a couple of weeks ago. With the filter, that knocks my oil changes down to $45 each.

Yeah, Walmart isn't economically feasible to send somebody to pick it up when it's a 155 mile round trip to one. Lol.

I'm sure a cummins owner, or any owner for that matter, can plan ahead to save some bucks and order online. This is the same parts house I get my oil and filters from. Actually same place I got all my supplies to rebuild and restore the engine, trans, and paint for my Barracuda. Good dudes, lots of know how, not amazon pricing. But I don't mind paying a little more to support local business.

That is really expensive for an oil change.

Oil change and filter- $65 at dealer or $55 if I do it myself

Fuel Filters - $81 online which I do myself

That is about $146 every 15,000 miles if I have the dealership change my oil or $136 if I do it myself.

When I had my Cummins I usually bought Fleetgard filters from Geno's Garage.

Yep, Fleetguard (Cummins Filtration) is the one who makes the filters on the engine anyways so why pay extra for the Mopar paint job. Don't get me wrong, I am more than happy to pay extra for something that is better, but not when it is the same thing just repainted.

Napa is running a special on Cummins endorsed Valvoline diesel oil. If you don't live in extreme temps and only need regular mineral oil then that would bring an oil change down to less than $50. So that would be about $130 every 15k for oil and fuel filter change.

Although I wouldn't care if the cost was twice as much. I would still gladly pay it just like I gladly paid extra for the V8 over the V6 in my old Mustang twenty years ago.

When I had my 04 Cummins i bought my filters from the Cummins dealer instead of the Dodge dealer. Same filters, different box. The Cummins dealer was in San Antonio and I was in Austin so I bought about 6 at a time so I didn't have to make the trip often. Typical price--Dodge fuel filter $50, Cummins fuel filter $14.95. The drive was worth it in my circumstances.

Hope that's not for the EcoDiesel in the truck, that 2.5 quarts shy of what you need(Jeep Grand Cherokee use 8). Rotella T6 is also cheaper and a approved oil.
