Are there any issues running 17" wheels on the 3/4 tons? Considering going with some Method Standards in 17x8.5 +25 offset.

EDIT: Should have looked around a bit more before asking. I see at least one example of someone running 17's.

Weight placement- on the 17"s the weighs have to be placed with the Roters in mind due to clearance.

Nitto makes a 37x11.50 for a 20 in wheels that would work

Yes wider than spec wheels, the bead has to be pushed out to the rim. Skinnier wheels hold the bead better because the tire is being pulled into the bead. Off roaders have been using skinnier wheels for years so they can air way down and not pop the bead. We're also not talking inches here, but a 1/4" per side. Toyo even has a 315/70/18 rated for 8" rims, they say it's 13" wide

X2

The worst case scenario is they wear a bit funny in the center. Chalk test your tire pressure to get it right.

I'm guessing backspacing on the original wheels is going to be the bigger issue. No desire to run wheel spacers. Have pretty well decided on Method Standards, just can't decide on diameter. Leaning towards the 17s, because I like a beefier tire, and it seems like more tires are available with that size...and cheaper.

On a side note, was talking to Zone about wheel scenarios, and was told that an 18x9 +18 would be a better choice than 17x8.5 +25, in regards to rubbing. Wouldn't those two wheels have almost exactly the same backspacing?

As an update. Went with 20x9 +12 Black Rhino Tanay wheels, and 37x12.5 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Still trying to decide if my 5'0" wife can get into the truck if it's lifted 5.5".
