Ive read about the chalk test but I'm on vacation and can't do that. Bought new tires before we left and want to air them down some before we leave on our 400 mile trip home. Tire store put 60 in the front and 80 in the rear.

What ballpark should I lower them too? I'm thinking leave 60 front and maybe 50 rear? Mickey Thompson atz in stock size.

What size, brand, etc... tires? Are they the stock TransForce tires?

My 35x12.50x18 KO2's are aired up to 55 psi all the way around. If I load up the truck I air up the rear about 10 more psi.

Of course, those pressures trip my TPMS system warnings but I can't be running those KO2's at 80 psi ever.

Mickey Thompson atz p3. Stock size. They are really close to a cooper st Maxx with a little more aggressive center lugs.

I run mine at about 55 front & rear. better ride, better tire wear. 80 psi rear is just crazy unless your towing / hauling heavy. If you can live with the light on the dash, lower your psi to reasonable pressures.

even with a few hundred pounds in the bed, at 55 psi the tires looked the same as they did without the load

Like Maddog, I run 55 all around with my 35s. I find that it is a good balance between ride/wear/mpg while not towing. If the lights are a concern, you can air down to a minimum of 48 front and 64 rear before *******' betty kicks in.

I went 55 all around. Hopefully it improved the ride some for the wife.

If anyone gets tired of the warnings and alarms (aka *******' Betty) give me a shout or a PM. Empty I run 45/40 with great tire wear results and a much nicer ride.

Run 45 all the way on my 35x12.5x18 Toyo's and nicer ride for sure. THere is a thread around here somewhere with a list of individuals and locations of who can fix the tpms and lower the settings. Had it done to mine and am most grateful no light...

That thread is a sticky is this section. Post #1 has been updated to include the mentioned info. The map in that post is members from the Cumminsforum, including myself. I send my Autels all over the U.S. to anyone that doesn't have someone close to them and/or those that want to make the adjustments at their house.
