Borg Warner 44-44 (4auto) TC is not truck duty. It's a problematic gear case if you plan on having to use 4lock which is the same as 4auto.

Yessir, I have read the stories of some really unhappy folks RE the 44-44 and how 4wd lock is really still 4auto.

In a perfect world, we could have a helical/torsen 4auto in the 2500/3500 in addition to 4hi and 4low.

That's probably unlikely though.

also, my 15' 1500 Silverado had 4 auto. don't miss it at all with this 2500. the anti spin works great and it's so heavy i don't get hardly spin on take off when it's wet.....unless i really get after it. haha.... i think you'd be pleasantly surprised

AWD shouldn't be an option on a truck

Unless you are purposely heavy on the gas in the wet, it's a non issue.
Evening in the winter, a few bags of salt in the back makes a much bigger difference in a 2500 vs a 1500.

tire spin on wet roads is a non-issue with my 2500. Wheels don't spin unless I get after it, and even then the traction control / electronic stability BS kicks in and takes care of it.

I kinda enjoyed the occasional fishtail in my old 1500, but it did not have traction control and the 4x4 only had lock. The electronic stability is actually pretty impressive. It corrects the start of a fishtail with no input from me. Still, fishtailing is fun when you want to do it.
