Anyone have a recommendation for a transmission pan with a plug - adding a couple of quarts of fluid would be OK too. But I really just want a simple installation and that it can accommodate the temperature sensor.

The other thing is - how do I confirm which transmission I have?

66RFE or 68RFE

I'm guessing I have the 66 because I have 4.10 rear gears.

Thanks

Mag-Hytec has been around for a long time. I think the 68RFE pan will fit the 66RFE. You can verify that with them.

I am running the DORMAN 265-817 pan with drain plug on my 66RFE and with a Fumoto Valve for a 14mmX1.0 thread. This unit will also fit the 68RFE.

Dorman Products - 265-817

Their fitment guide stops at 2010 but it fits my 2015 with no issues. The pan is actually pretty good quality and would recommend using the MOPAR OEM sealant for the pan and be sure to torque the bolts to factory specs.

That looks good.

I think there is a sensor in the transmission pan (I may be wrong) does this pan acomminate it or am I wrong?

There is no sensor on the pan itself. With the exception of having the threaded **** and drain plug, it is a dimensional one for one swap with the factory pan. You will not lose or gain any capacity using it. All you have transfer over is magnet puck from the inside of the factory pan to the new pan.

Yes it does, two. A semi-flat inlet screen filter with pickup tube, and a spin on can filter that rests internal inside the pan.

That's fantastic.

The most difficult part of changing the transmission fluid is draining the fluid and it dripping all over the place.

Yeah, once I had the replacement pan, I sacrificed the old pan by slowly drilling a drain hole in it for fluid removal. Saved on the splashing.
