from what i understand in "D" normal driving ( no T/H mode) the truck uses 1,2,4,5,6
When T/H mode is activated it uses 1,2,3,4,5 and the shift points are much higher in the RPM range. not sure if you meant that it literally ignores 3rd or if you meant it dosnt use it enough or at the right point/rpm

Im not %100 sure though.
This was true for the 65rfe because it wasn't a true 6 speed. But the 66rfe it always uses 6 gears.

so it uses all 6 in both modes but changes the shifting points and other magical things? that is cool.

Can you increase transmission line pressure with the Hemifever tune? If it is a true custom tune then they should be able to manipulate the line pressure, torque converter lock up, and shift points making your towing experience a lot better. From my experience with some tuners in the past, I have found that those that make a great unloaded tune generally are not good at making good towing tunes, and those that can make a good towing tune do not make a great unloaded tune.

If I were going to tow this heavy again soon I would see if he cod modify it for me to see if it could be improved. I know the line pressure is turned up because the shifts are a lot firmer than stock. From what I can see in the parameters I can adjust you can adjust wot rpm's at which it shifts but not a throttle percentage like I would need adjusted. The shifts are definitely delayed in tow haul but sometimes it gets confused and it is really agitating in small Hills that I constantly drive on.

2 yards, really probably a bit over, of wet hard wood mulch. Rough guess, about 1600lbs. Truck didn't even know it was there.

About a 1/2 cord of cherry, oak, and maple firewood. Maybe a ton. Minimal squat.

2012 with the 5.9 makes pulling this 8500 pound travel trailer look like Child's Play. Recently installed Superchips Flashpaq F5 but have not had a chance to test it yet will be going out next weekend will reprogram truck for hauling and see how it goes. If it gets easier than it already I would be pleasantly surprised. Although I am looking for a little more off the line power pulling it otherwise it does a great job

I like how you have your tow mirrors folded out like it's a wide trailer. Classic.

:) I didn't have any choice since the trailer is so short I needed to see in the back.

My mirrors are flipped out all the time. You ( i can) can see way more with the blind spot mirrors if they are horizontal. I can almost see a car that is driving directly beside me in my blind spot mirrors and still see directly behind me down the side of my truck.

Everyone is different though.

I do the same thing with then horizontal. I haven't ever towed anything wide enough to need to flip them the other way yet.

With the mirror itself flipped vertical (up, "tow mode") the blind spot mirror is horizontal or parallel with the road.

I guess I'm confused as to what you do.

I was just poking fun. I didn't mean anything by it. My buddy does the same thing with his 2500. I do see the reasoning behind driving with them in that position though. I just haven't tried that yet, it would be too hard to get into the garage with my mirrors out that wide.

That's what I figured...

I have to pull my driver side mirror and every time I go into and out of my garage. It's a little annoying. I honestly think with the mirrors flipped up it looks kind of goofy and I feel like goof doing it. I prefer the look of them down but it just works better for me with them up. I don't blame people for poking fun of me:)

With the mirror in not tow mode, the main mirror is horizontal.

I think trucks that are lifted with a wider stance, the mirrors in the "moose" position, look better!
Agree though, on a stock looking truck with nothing in tow, they look a bit off.

Yup. But the blind spot mirrors that we are referring to are perpendicular to the main mirror. So in "tow mirror mode" they are horizontal.
