Anybody else have wheel hop problems in the soft stuff, deep sand and snow gets the reared bucking very bad. My truck does have the 5th shock on the pumpkin.

With a 5 link rear you shouldn't be having any wheel hop issues in soft stuff. Maybe a bit if you were trying to burn the rear tires off on pavement. Aside from any deflection in the crappy rubber bushings Chrysler uses, there should not be any axle wrap.

I get it to with the 5th shock, it's just the design of the 4 link. It's designed for road manners not off road. If the used a triangulated 4 link in the rear you wouldn't have the bouncing of the rear axle in soft material. The front will shake and bounce no matter what the design

My truck does it. Usually on pavement in two wheel drive I don't have any wheel hop, I don't have the fifth shock. Where it's been bad for me is in 4wd in the snow, spinning all 4 tires from a stop. I haven't had my truck in sand yet, but I'm guessing it will behave pretty much the same as it did in the snow.

You guys getting wheel hop while the bed is empty? Its probably mostly due to the crappy rubber bushings in the rear control arms. I noticed the other day driving the work truck that when coming to a complete stop the truck bounces back and forth. Kinda like the axles have stopped moving, but the truck is bouncing back and forth in the rubber bushings. Our jeeps do it too. Its just an odd feeling.

Suspension geometry might also contribute a bit, but I doubt it. I need to measure the work truck to see how much anti-squat is in the stock suspension.

The bushings don't help but it is the design of the suspension that causes this. People on the power wagon forum have been complaining about it ever since they switched from leaf springs. I don't have many issues in 2wd but in 4wd if you are in any kind of deep snow the whole truck tries to shake itself apart.

I know that some of the newer I.R.S. cars have wheel hop issues, and they install polyurethane bushings to stop the issue. I don't know if anybody makes poly bushings for these trucks, or if it would fix the issue, but it might be worth checking out.

Get the bracket and a good shock install it and the hop is gone. You can get both parts and the bolts from Benny @allmoparparts a preferred vendor here send him a pm with your vin. He’s an awesome guy and superb customer service.

Willie, I have same truck as you and also have same wheel hopping. Feels like the rears are blowing apart. Gotta be the engineering.
