I was in the dealership getting an oil change for the 2500 and they had a 2017 1500 Rebel in the showroom with Ram Boxes, 5.7L. It looked very nice.

But, it looked small, inside and out. With the Ram boxes, you couldn't even fit a dead body in the bed.

Is it just me or are the 1500s getting smaller?

Ram box is just an option if that's what the buyer wants you don't have to get it, also like any other brand they have different box sizes to fit your needs.
I really think Ram 1500's are pretty big compared to the competition. The overall size and all Is decent.

So to answer your question I think it's just you. Also being in a 2500 and looking at a 1500 you can't compare its size. It's like comparing a Dakota and Ram 1500

the rebel only comes crew cab 5'7" bed, like most other crew cab 1500's out there. so yea, the bed is a little shorter then your used to with the 2500. ram boxes give the appearance of a smaller bed, but in reality the space they occupy isnt very usable for most people anyway.

A 1500, 2500 and 3500 in the crew cab and 6'4" bed are the same dimensions, only the hood is slightly taller in the HD trucks. The HDs also sits higher due to the frame/suspension.

A crew cab with the 6'4" bed is less popular in the 1500 and the 5'7" bed is not offered in the HD trucks

The front part of the truck(hood, grille, bumper, etc...) are bigger on the 2500/3500 to fit the cooling for the big engines. The rest is essentially the same.

I took the tonneau cover off my 1500 quad cab and installed it on my 3500 crew cab. They are the exact same size.

Actually... You CAN put a dead body in the RAM box. ~5.8, maybe 6.1ft. But for sure 5.8ft.

you have to chop the body up, cut the legs and arms at the torso, and remove the head. Place the legs in first, with feet down in cavity. Then place the torso on top of the legs. Set the arms and head on top. Lid will close just fine. Keep in mind there is a drain hole at the bottom, make sure to plug it, or drain body. Other wise you will leave a trail of blood. :superhack:

to be fair, the wheel base on your 3500 is 9" longer.

Yeah, I knew it was something like that. However, that length is not made up in the box. The back seat is much larger than my old quad cab.

In your case, you are correct.
