So I swear I keep hearing a ticking that sounds weird. When I accel its almost like a rattle. The higher the Rpms the more noticeable it is. Well I got underneath the truck noticed drilled holes were the transmission is like there used to bolts but there's not. Is other people's trucks like this or just mine? It's towards the front of the transmission near the exhaust. ( passenger side)

Yeah I think so. The missing ones are in about the middle of the picture. Lighting tries to hide them. Tomorrow will try and get a video. Wish I could go to the dealer but none of them haves 6.4s

They like to engineer parts so they can be used on multiple vehicles & applications. Saves us & them a bunch of money. Do these holes go all the way through the bell housing to the engine block? If so it's my opinion that this should be taken care of ASAP to prevent your tranny from twisting off the motor.

When you step on the accelerator do you hear a faint clicking type noise?

Thinking back 20+ years ago when I was swapping out a transmission on a Toyota I remember a similar thing. The holes worked out nicely as a place to stick a screwdriver and hold the tranny to the bell housing while setting your first bolts. I'm not sure if this was the intent but it worked nicely.

You need to be careful, some of them could be used just for alignment purposes.
They actually don't meet face to face and will have a gap in between them.
If you put a bolt in it, tighten it up, you can break it off.
Nothing like putting a crack in your transmission by putting a bolt in a spot that isn't supposed to have one.
