Hey Wade,

I've not logged in lately and had to check in, I got a package today from you and first thought I got a new set by accident. I was one of the first to order the new ones and I guess I've got to change these out as soon as it warms up. The set I have have so far been great.

Thanks Mark

Mark,

That is great that the first ones are still working out great for you! Use them for as long as they hold out, and use the replacements as backup for when/if they do.

Great to hear from you and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Wade

Hi Wade,
I just sent you an email, but wanted to ask here too. I just received these today from Amazon. Do I have the updated ones? I do not see a "green dot" anywhere. I just wanted to know before I installed them. See pics below. Thanks!

The green dot on mine was on the back of the actual mirror. I hope this helps

Sir John (Chade),

Firefighter14 is correct...the dot will be on the back of the mirrors, not on the back of the packaging.

If you have any colored dot (green, yellow, blue or silver) you have an updated set. The color only signifies what particular Silicone I used.

If you don't have any dot, then you have an outdated set, but if you just bought them, you have an updated set.

Let me know if I can help you any further.

Thank you,
Wade

Hey Wadestar, I bought some of the RM9 mirrors for my dads truck, bought those over the RM10 ones because they resembled the oem tow mirrors, but I put them on his truck last night and while they look nice and all of that, when you sit in the drivers seat, when you look in the mirrors they don't show your blind spot area, they seem to be looking WAY out to the side of the truck, in an area that I can see in my normal mirrors, is this how they were designed? I know I installed them correctly (not that its hard to do lol, but im just curious if something is wrong with them or what?

Demon-Hemi,

Thank you for the note and hopefully I can answer your questions.

The RM9 mirrors were designed to extent the viewing range of the stock mirrors. If you notice, they are angled at a farther rate than the plane of the stock mirror when installed. The object of that is in the example of a car next to you on the Freeway, that once the car is no longer visible in your stock mirror, the RM9 mirror will have it in view...and thus be able to avoid collision.

Now, there is a chance, that you have the mirrors adjusted so far out that that is not needed and you can see vehicles in that 'blind area' all the way until you can see the vehicle with your own view. And, some people have their mirrors adjusted that way and the RM9 mirrors wouldn't be of any benefit.

I would say that testing them in your driveway may not give the whole story, but that is your choice on whether you want to keep them installed or not. If they don't work out...I will absolutely refund you your money (even though it says no refunds on the listing) and you can go a different direction.

You should check out the RM10 mirrors as most people buy them and are very happy with the results. Let me know if/how I can assist you.

Thank you,

Good morning, Grant. Either eBay or Amazon will give you the best rate. If you live in Canada, definitely go to Amazon. Congratulations on your new truck! - Wade

Probably a good time to update my experience. I've had the new style since they were available. Mine are also mounted in the upper corner of the Ram mirrors.

I've now put several thousand miles on them including a trip to Florida.

I noticed yesterday in heavy traffic that my eyes automatically went to the blind spot mirrors to keep a reference on the vehicles near me and not the larger mirrors.

I guess the best thing I can say about the design is they have worked well enough that I depend on them now.

avantiguy,

That is great to hear. I'm even surprised how much I use them instead of my larger mirrors. Yesterday I pulled a trailer for 120 miles and used them exclusively.

Thank you for your kind feedback...I truly appreciate it!
