After I found out that everyone was ok, I shed a tear because my truck looks terrible. But it kept my family safe so I am happy about that. Here are some more pictures

Here's the dumb bi*** that was on her phone when she hit us. She got what she deserved as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully she learned her lesson

When my wife drives the truck almost once a month there's a mysterious scratch or little dent somewhere. Now there's a pretty good scruffle and it took the clear coat and paint off. Not down to the primer.
Any advice on how to fix this, besides for not her driving it lol

I already cleaned the spot pretty good to make sure it's not just the clear coat. It didn't go away like the other little marks I've hidden.

Deja vu huh?

just a little more than a scratch this time, im sorry about the truck man, id brace for the insurance to total the truck though, they will probably say frame damage and write it off, personally id buy it back but either way i hope you come out on top brother!

Thanks gents. There will always be a truck. Maybe not this one but there will be one for safety reasons. We're already talking about selling the avenger and getting an SUV or another pickup.
Yea complete deja vu. But this one was 100% not her fault.
I plan on fixing the truck. As long as USAA says it's cool and covers it. Blue book is $28k so I wouldn't mind getting a new truck too lol.
It was towed to the place I bought it from when I worked there and started checking out the truck. The frame wasn't bent or damaged from what I can tell. The back shock was pulled apart due to impact. The leaf springs were all bent and weird lookin. Tire was blown and rim cracked. The drive shaft is in the bed. No idea what damage was done to the tranny or even to the engine from being pushed forward. Obvious body damage on bed. The only thing wrong with the cab is a 4 inch dent from the bed right behind the Laramie badge would be.
What do y'all think? Fixable? Is it worth it?

im betting thats what it is, since the axel as a whole wasnt pushed forward, it was just turned, if im not mistaken you have a two piece driveshaft, so it may have not put any strain on the motor or trans.

Edit: i went and looked at the pix, it looks like you can see where the drive shaft slips in, id go look at that and see if there is any damage or evidence there to suggest it jammed into anything

Cool. I'll have to check that out demon. And I believe you're right I'm pretty sure it's two three foot pieces. I didn't want to crawl on the glass covered impound yard ground to check it out the other day lol. My fingers are crossed.
Some insurance guy was supposed to go look at it yesterday and check out the damage. Just really hope he doesn't say it's totaled.

Prolly not unfortunately. Way too pricey. I got one hellofa deal for this one. I found a 16 Cummins with 30k miles 4x4 for 52k. Absolutely insane....

So the shop won't fix the truck. I'm still working with my insurance. Most likely getting cash value for the truck to go towards the next one. I've been eyeing a used 2016 at a dealership near me. $26k with 17k miles for 4x4 express crew cab. No more mega....

That's pretty steep price wise for a used Express. Paid 28k for mine new in 2014 and it has pretty much every option you can get on the Express. Even the 32 gallon tank lol. Nice color though
