What light bar and mounts did you go with? Can you post up some close up pics of the mounting as I'm fixing to go through this and I don't want a half *** looking setup.

I bought my brackets off of eBay from a company called jc kustoms out of Texas. The cree light bar came from california, also off of ebay.

The brackets are placed behind the weather stripping on the door frame. They sent self tapping screws to mount the brackets but I just don't trust those. I took my headliner out a little bit and put bolts through two of the brackets holes. A total pain in the ass to do but worth it. There are tiny screws that hold the weather stripping in place. I took one out on each side and used the hole for reference for lining it up. I drilled bigger holes and put the bolts through. I self tapped the ground on the side and ran a wire through to hook up. Not hard just tedious.

I really want to but originally I was supposed to go out of town this weekend. That's changed but now my new apt is ready and I'm moving in today. I'll definitely have to make the next one.

Washed the truck today. Took some updated pictures of the black out progression. Headlights are next. I want to paint the inside black.

Look's great! Be careful when you do the bezel's and take your time. I've never done a headlight like you have, but I know when I blacked out my bezel's I was pretty freaked about making sure they sealed back 100%. I did have the lights you have at one time just in black, but they were a POS so I sent em' back.

Yeah I'm worried about sealing them properly. Did you not like the light output from the projectors on the headlights? I'm assuming that's why you didn't like them because I had that issue as well. I fixed it by drilling the bulb hole a tad bigger on each and putting 8000K hid bulbs in each one. I have plenty of light now, way more than the crappy halogen bulbs.

That's exactly the problem I had, but I'm not about to start drilling into a set of lights that should have been right to begin with - after all I did pay $350 for each set... I uploaded a pic of the light disbursement after I got them installed. Oh and another thing on those light's, I don't know about yours, but mine were a PITA to adjust. I had to completely remove them to adjust it. For 2 hours I spent doing this (3 bolts in tight, 3 bolts out adjust, 3 bolts in tight) and it went on like that. I contacted Spec-D directly and told them there had to be an easier way to do it and they never got back to me, I was supposed to be contacted by the designer to walk over it, but... I still plan to drop a set of Night Runners in it, but I gotta dish out $750 to the dealer and I don't want a used set.

As you can see... the passenger side is way dimmer than the driver. My fog lights over powered these things. They had me switch out bulbs, put bulbs in opposite housings and I told them that already did that before I contacted them, but I did it again just to entertain them. CarID was great to me though in the fact that I told them how many sets of lights I bought and still having problems and they refunded my money every time without issue. I do have to say that the lights looked BAD ASS on my truck though and hate that they didn't work right, but after all the problems I had with those projectors the only way I'll do another set is to retrofit.

Yeah man I definitely hear you. I was hesitant about drilling but I was raised in a salvage yard so the redneck in me was determined to make it work. I bet they did look awesome on your truck. I'm excited to see how mine will look with black inside. The chrome ones look out of place on the truck now. Lol

Fixed my wind issue from my windshield light bar brackets. I bought some weather stripping from autozone for about $20 and put it on the inside or the door at the top. Seemed to do the job.

Got some pics of the light bars on as well. The pics don't do justice but gives an idea. First pic is just headlights.

Yeah I'm quite a Redneck myself, but I also believe in doing the job right the first time so it doesn't have to be done again. You truck looks bad ass with everything you've done to it, I'm gonna have to put another N-FAB Prerunner bar on the front of mine so I can put a light bar on it.

Yeah man i hear you. You should definitely get the runner bar. I don't think I could ever have a truck without a light bar on it. I love being able to see everything.

Output of light is crazy! I need to start looking at doing this. I want to put a light bar in the front bumper first and then see if I want to go with one up top. Now just to figure what light bar brand to get...

derekp, would you be willing to send me a link on the roof mounts you got? I found the curved bar I want, but the mounts I'm finding are for 52" curved and 50" strait.

Thanks in advance

It's addicting. As soon as you put one on and see the difference you are going to want a lot more. Lol

Nvm I appreciate it, I found a different bar with better warranty and it's a 52", just bought the mounts. You are correct in the fact that once you get one, you'll be getting more. I put a 12" on the front bumper originally planning to put it between the tow hooks, but since I have the sport bumper it's to tall so I mounted it to the license plate.
