Hey all,

I've done a project log for the last view vehicles I've owned on their appropriate forums, so I'll start one here as well. I like having a place where I can get input from people, as well as answer any questions to help others as well.

Bought a 2011 Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab with 17k miles about a month ago.

I didn't like the fugly 17" rims, so I swapped them with a local guy from the forum for his stock 20s.

I got the bed Line-X'd last week. The bed was bare, and the previous owner had obviously used it a lot. I am very happy with the way the Line-X not only protects it, but makes it look much better as well.

I will update this thread constantly as I go. Next mod is to order some black housing headlamps and mesh grill.

..Rugged Brown - Project Log

FYI, Based on the thread title's wording I was expecting someone to be taking their Rugged Brown paint finish and doing some sort of faux woodgrain re-finish. Might want to ask a Mod to change the title to "Build-Log" or "Build Thread" instead.

Nice...truck looks just like mine. My current project with my truck is external work. I put in a lot of internal work ( replaced head unit, speakers, added sub, carbon fiber dash).

My next task is replacing the tail lights, get some decals in the side of the truck beds... maybe wrap some of the sides with carbon fiber ( make it look like a 2 tone Laramie) so I have some ideas on what to run with.

What are you doing externally?

I look forward to seeing it Saturday. My dog will appreciate the folding floor insert very much :)

My plans externally are to install some black housing headlamps, as well as an all black mesh grille with the dodge crosshairs removed. I am also looking into color matching my front and rear bumpers, but apparently painting chrome isn't the best / easiest idea? I need to do some more research on that. If I can get the bumpers color matched, I'd like to black out all the chrome accents on the truck and go from there.

Today I met arod412. I purchased the folding floor insert for the back of the quadcab. If you ever have a chance to deal with him, don't hesitate. Very nice fellow.

On to a little progress. I Line-X'd the truck last week, as well as got the windows tinted. Back is 5%, front is 20%.

That's... I got the positive feedback.. I will do the same...it was a pleasure doing business and meeting the family. Can't wait to see your truck with the bull bar... still debating on my end.

Sooo many things to do, not a lot of money to do it...lol

Yea, I know the feeling, as do most people here lol. I'll update you as soon as I get the parts and install them.

Tucked her away for the snow storm we got yesterday here in Maryland. There's a half inch between the rear bumper and wall, and about an inch between the front bumper and garage door lol.

Oh get her out in the snow, lol. Even though I'm a Harley guy, that's a sharp bike. Couldn't tell from the pics, what is it?

Well I'm just jealous he has a garage. Loving the toolbox and the dodge ram sign on the wall. I'm with cruizer.... get that truck out into the snow.

The reason I put her in the garage is because I've got a lifted Cherokee that I use for snow. I figured I may as well keep the Ram clean if I'm not going to be driving it that day.

The bike is a 2008 Victory Vegas, 8 Ball (black edition). I love it. What kind of HD do you have?

That Jeep looks like fun. I keep tellin' the wife I need more toys, lol.

My Harley is a '67 FLH. Will be going through the top end and replacing carb in the next couple months. Gotta get ready to ride. :burnout:

Today I swapped my headlamps and grill for pieces I bought from Protuninglab. They arrived in great shape. I took a video of the install to make a How To. There are some out there already, but some are out of focus, and some didn't explain a few minor steps, so I figured I'd do one as well. I'll post as soon as I'm done editing.

Nice! A classic. Yea I'm done with the winter this season. Bring on the warmth! Cookouts, bikinis, beer. Yes please lol. Tell the wife you can nab a Cherokee for $2000 in decent shape and buy a long arm lift for another $2000 and tires for a grand. Boom, $5000 and you're ready to rock.

Yeah, after I lift my truck and get new wheels on, think I'll have to spend some money on her first. Think she's gettin' jealous, lol.
