I am new to this forum but this is my 4th Ram. I was very, very close to going with a Ford this go around but this left over 16 was too good of a deal to pass up. I have had some issues with it that has left me wondering what may have been with the Ford...and those issues will be discussed later. For now, I continue to try and stay upbeat and excited about my new truck which is now a month old. This pic is as I took it off the lot. The dealer did the Mopar 4" lift, Mickey Thompson Deegan 35/12.5 mud tires, and Havoc wheels. The lift includes Fox shocks, coilovers on front. I planned on a truck with zero chrome, but as you can see...with the good deal came some compromise.

First change was part of the sale, having the dealer switch the chrome step bars for black. Put in some Husky mats front and back (need to take a pic). Also blacked out the badges.

Next came an EAG grille and I used Flexidip to black out the bumpers. I used it on wheels in the past with good results. They look good, IMO...but not sure how long it will last. I have someone that will paint the bumpers for $500 and I likely will go that route. You can also see I added a Nfab front mount light bracket bar. A 24" light bar and 4 cubes will be mounted there.

Next mod was fender flares. I picked these up from AEG on Amazon. Unfortunately, they didn't quite fit right and so have since replaced with Rough Country. The pic is with the AEG as I don't have a pic of the new RCs yet. I think the RCs look a bit better overall, besides fitting much better and tighter to the truck body.

You can also see (kinda) in this pic that I did a 20% tint to the front windows and windshield shade.

After a LOT of trouble with OPT7, I finally got all the lights I ordered. I ended up with a 24" light bar, six cubes, a remote harness as well as harnesses for all lights. Besides not sending the entire order the first time, when it was all said and done...not all harnesses were the same. Lights seem good quality, but their communication is terrible with a two day delay at best, and obvious language issues in their emails and product descriptions, including inaccuracies. My two cents about that company. I also added some blue accent lighting behind the grill.

The blue accent lights are powered with an accessory fuse, so are on when the truck is on. I mounted the bar and 4 cubes on the front nfab bar and they all come on thru the remote relay switched by my homelink buttons. I ended up making a couple brackets to raise the nfab bar up above my front sensors (the nfab bar is made to mount in the front license bracket holes). It took a couple tries to get it right and solid, but it looks better than the original position. I will get some daytime pix of the light bar and new mounts when I get the truck back from the dealer.

Where I am at with the truck right now:
1. The suspension has made a lot of rubbing noises since I bought it. It has been at the dealer three times including right now, trying to get it figured out.
2. It also has vibrations at hwy speeds. The dealer found two tires after load testing that were out of round, so replaced. It fixed for about 300 miles before vibes came back. They are supposed to be looking into it now as well.
3. Both Ram box lids formed cracks leading from the push buttons and are being replaced.
4. Mileage is horrible...never better than 14 per the lie meter. I hate to even know if I hand calculated. I also realized today driving my loaner that I have never seen the ECO light, even when coasting. I wonder if that is a setting on the computer?

5. I may pick up some different wheels. The Havocs are nice, but not what I would have hand picked. I wanted all black, with more of a neg offset. If I do that, I will likely sell the tires and wheels and start over with both.

6. I will be looking at a more permanent solution towards black bumpers, and need to do something with the handles. May look at black or smoked headlight housings as well.

7. Need to line the bed and also add some leds mounted under the bumper for added back up light.

Good looking truck sir. The more I look at that light bracket you have the more I like it. I wanted a small bull bar to mount lights on the front but now I might look for that bracket bar.

For the bumpers - I would look at powder coating - it will last longer, if they do it right, it can be very smooth.

It comes in gloss and textured. I would have ordered textured if I would have known. I ordered it off Amazon, but Nfab has it on their website as well. There are some posted reviews about flimsy and bouncing lights but that is BS from people that don't know how to mount it because it is very sturdy and solid. Like I said above, I modified how it mounts and will take some pix of that when I get my truck back from the shop.

Truck is looking great, my friend! Glad to see you start a build thread! :) If you're going to continue with the blue/black theme, may I suggest finding some blue body color to black door handles? It would definitely help with your color scheme. Really glad to see you stuck with Ram and didn't go Ford. Keep up the awesome work! :waytogo:

Update: Truck is FINALLY back from the dealer.
The suspension issues were fixed by replacement of one of the front coilovers.

We could not seem to get 4 good tires from Mickey Thompson, so ended up going with all new Toyo Open Country R/T in same size, 35x12.5. I was able to pick pretty much any tire I wanted, but choose these based largely on Drummin4jc's feedback in his build thread.

I sold the EAG fender flares and installed some much better fitting Rough Country flares.

I will take some updated pix with the new tires and flares, but the overall look is not changed much. The Toyos are a much quieter ride tho.

I have some LED cubes showing up tomorrow that I am going to hook up for added reverse lights.

Some closer pix of the front light bracket with lights. You kinda see the brackets I made to raise up the bar away from the intended location mounted in the license plate bracket holes. This puts the entire assembly up above my parking sensors, and just looks better up higher, IMO. Lights are all wired to the same remote relay, and trained to come on using my homelink buttons.
