Build thread ( WHITE SHADOW )

Daughter named my truck this so the name is stayin.
Thus us the build thread for my White 2014 Ram 2500 CC 4x4 CTD. Getting her prepped and ready for some full time RV'ing so I wanted to share a few pics. Will probably be installing most of these first round of parts this weekend so I will post more pics during and after i stall.

Here she is at the start. Only thing Ive done is tint the windows, add amp research power steps, change cab lights to white LED, and build a custom set of custom color matched, FXR projector swapped HID headlights with Diode Dynamics switchback turn signal boards.

1. Thuren 2.75" front leveling kit with overland shocks and trackbar for the front

2. Airlift loadlifter 5000 airbag kit and Bilstein 5100 shocks for the rear with Daystar cradles

3. B&W 5th wheel hitch install kit and 7 pin plug for the bed.

I'll keep this updated as I go. Next few things I will be working on getting is a roll n lock bed cover, a set of Toyo Open Country RT tires ( 285/75/18 ), possibly a compressor kit for the airbags and onboard air, and the anderson ultimate hitch.

Sweet. Do the airbags replace the coils? If so how much lift over stock can u get?

They're actually helper bags to work with the coils to level the truck once I hook up to my 5th wheel.

Headlights are Awesome! Wish I could do that. Your gonna like the thuren kit it's the best mod I have done by far

I've built headlights for my last 4 vehicles. Pain in the butt to do and cost me another set of headlights for spare parts because i had to redo a few things but very worth it to me to see better at night. I cant wait to put the leveling kit on.

Great minds think a like. I already have all of that on my truck besides the Airlift which will be next month. I didn't need it before, but after I installed the Thuren 2" level last month, I will be needing them to keep the back end from squating when towing my RV. Although I plan on going with the on-board compressor as well.

Which compressor are you looking at? Airlift is proud of their 2 stage compressor set. I think it's over 500 bucks

The WirlessOne. I was thinking about getting the one that inflates either side individually, but I don't thunk it would be needed.

I was thinking about a dual stage one in case i need to air up tires on the truck or rv.

I want the wireless one as well but I have it about figured out... hook up 5th wheel and air up to 40psi and roll on and it works well. That being said there have been a few times I wish I could adjust it going down the road not to mention the convenience of not having to break out the compressor every time I hook up the camper

Yeah Pete, I have airbags on my work truck thats a toolbox bed. Man, that thing gets bouncy on roads here in Arkansas sometimes and i wish i had the availability to adjust them on the fly.

Well fellas, since I'm working here in Arkansas for 5 weeks at a time and since I'm impatient, a few co-workers and I will be installing my leveling kit in the parking lot at Best Western after work. I'll post pics during the install and before and after pics. This will be fun. Should be a breeze because we work on peterbuilts everyday and all of our tools are in our trucks. Lol.

Do you work for a Peterbilt dealer or a fleet with a lot of Peterbilts?

I currently work for the largest Peterbilt dealership group in the US. Used to work for Cummins and PACCAR along with various other makes throughout the years.

I work for Rush peterbuilt in Houston. Just started in January. I "was" an offshore crane mechanic for 12 years until the market got so bad i had to get out. We are on a contract for Baker Hughes right now here in Arkansas. Still a newbie when it comes to the peterbuilt side.

Small world! I work for Rush as well, but I work at the corporate offices in NB. I did work at the San Antonio location for the past five years as an accounts manager. One part of my job was gaining and negotiating service contracts for onsite techs or mobile techs with companies like Baker Hughes. From truck/engine specs and sales to parts and service, I was in the mix of it all.

Ah, the good old days when I was out in the field on the front line with customers and not stuck in an office.
