This is how the truck looked the day I had bought it. The only bad spots on the truck, above rear wheels and a soft spot in the cab corners just above the rocker panel. He sprayed foam inside the holes to keep them from "gathering water"...

Thanks guys, appreciate it! It was a lot of work and time to get the box to come out right. The truck has some very hard lines to follow that's for sure. I'll be investing in a full plastic wheel well liner for the box this summer.

I had bought two Right/Left box side panels for the box for around $150 CAD each. I had a local shop weld them in and we Mar glassed and filled it. We also seem sealed the inside box really well, to keep out the water. With this Generation ram the box has a flare to it and the lines were incredibly difficult to mimic but we managed to get them fair. We also used a product that was like a crushed up pencil lead that we would rub on the primed surface to help with the highs and lows since the panels are so large. This was by far the most difficult panel on the truck haha.

Solid work! Really looks awesome! To me, body work is such an awesome talent. Hats off to the good work! :favorites13:

You into body work?

Yeah a little bit! This is mainly my fathers work however, I just do the performance side of things ha-ha. He is in love with painting/building cars in the evenings.

Thanks everyone for the compliments! I appreciate it and my Dad is pretty proud of how she turned out. I'll see if I can find a few other photos and get some new ones posted when the snow is gone!

Well guys its been quite a while since I posted anything about the truck. Not too much has happened in these months cosmetically so it wasn't worth posting. Just some wheels bearings and ball joints to keep it tight.

I really loved the look of the 08' factory 20" Ram wheels so I bought myself a set for a great price, and I bought myself some wheel well liners as well, because I don't want to go through the body work phase again :buffer:

Where did you get the scoop and how much was it to your door if you don't mind me asking.

Not at all! it is the Mopar Rumble bee scoop, I bought it off Ebay, and it was around $340 CAD.
It is a sturdy scoop, like advertised but the "grill" insert is cheap as hell, my insert is custom made. It also only has about 6-8 bolts to hold it down. I wouldn't recommend how I installed it, and that is why i had so many issues. it is designed to be bolted and taped directly onto your hood. I wanted the sides filled because I wanted to have a different hood from everyone else, a lot of people buy the cheap stick on version of this. Anyway the 6-8 bolts under high speed wind, cracks the hell out of the side of the scoop where I filled it.
I had to put a bolt every 1", use rivets, urethane glue and apply fiber galss matting to the scoop to keep it down.

If you cut your hood out the scoop has decent aerodynamics on the underside can make it a functional scoop as well.

I would recommend the scoop if you just bolt it on how its suppose to be:roflsquared:, should give you absolutley no problems and really sets the front end off. If you like what i did I would reccomend the actual SRT or Amerihood for your truck. I didn't want any gaps similar to the SRT10 scoop so I filled mine, you can see in the finished photo ( Yes those are fresh cat scratches on my freshly painted hood).

And they are in! A little bit wider than what I have, and just under a 35' tire, so I can have good fitment with my wheels. Cant wait to have these mounted up, doing a slight torsion crank, and getting an alignment next week at some point!

WELL!
I went to get my tires mounted today, and I honestly didn't think these tires would be as enormous as they seemed when unmounted. Once you put air to these things they really are massive. I maybe wish I went with a 285 or even the 275 again, but its too late now. So I test fitted these tires, and to anyone who is wondering about a 295/60 R20, these WILL fit inside the third gen (2005) RAM 1500 with a 20x9 wheel. I ended up with 1/2" space from my UCA, with no spacers and no rubbing at full lock either way, and that's not even with a torsion bar crank yet.

So, I mounted them up and stood back, Immediately felt panic and thought they were way too big and stuffed in the wheel wells. My goal was not to have an obnoxious looking truck with obnoxious tires, but a factory sleek look to it. I felt that the 275/60r20 was a little under sized, and I was recommended by many people to get a 295 or even a 305!(which I can almost guarantee a 305 will not fit without spacers) for the best look. I don't really know where I stand on the image yet. The first two photos, are with the jack under the truck simulating a torsion bar crank, and the last photo is the truck sitting on its own weight with no torsion crank.

Let me know your guys thoughts on how it looks, does it look too stuffed, or obnoxious?
