Just picked up this truck. Seems to be in great shape. Interior is perfect (well except the cracked dash of course). Body is okay. Some rust on the skins of three of the doors. A scratch/indent down the drivers side. A very dented hood, bad grille, and a dented bumper. Rear bumper needs replaced.

Tires are brand new. I purchased a hood and grille from junk yard for $95. It is at my sons body shop being painted. Also grabbed a bumper for $150 which they will install when hood is ready.

127,*** miles. The 5.9 runs really good. Notice a little bit of rough idle and a miss when I stomp on it. Gonna do a tune up with wires and see if that changes.

I think I did alright. Got it for $1000! :waytogo:

The truck should last you 300, 000 miles if you take care of it. I would check the tie rods and get a good alignment on it. To figure out if there is anything else.

My 5.9 has 161,000 miles on it and is still running like a champ. Couple things to look into is the plenum gasket which is known to go and on mine the gasket behind the timing chain went bad which caused an antifreeze leak that would cause it overheat. My suggestion if that happens replace the timing chain while you're at it.

thanks dl and korby for the responses. I think I really like this truck so far. Thanks for the tips on some issues to check into. I did see a couple drops of antifreeze on shop floor after parked for a few hours.

Not a bad truck. The interior is in good shape, which is good since that's where you'll be spending a lot of time. The exterior can be massaged, interior is a *****.

Looks like the hood flew up at some point in time. Also, check the backside of the wheel arches on your bed as well as the tailgate.
