Now, in regards to others asking about how the PD is holding up. I inspected them this morning, all looks well, no rock chips either. However, I am not happy with the amount of fading that has occurred. I'm sure it is perfectly normal and maybe I'm having change of heart with the matte finish, but I wanted to at least darken up the black in the paint. Here are a couple shots from today.
Here are the products I used. Simple Green (not pictured) and Armor All wheel cleaner and a boars hair brush. I did NOT allow product to dry, very windy today which made it tricky. After I worked in the product, I simply rinsed with water and let air dry. Then used the 303 Aerospace sprayed on the tire sponge, NOT the wheel and proceeded to cover the entire face of the wheel, then let air dry. I think it came out quite well, just not holding my breath on how long it will last. Once it wears off, I will be using the Plasti-dip glossifier instead for a more permanent gloss.
Once I did all four corners, I moved on the the b-pillar trim. Even being a new vehicle, this trim had been faded from the elements and I wanted to darken it up as well. I detail vehicles on the side so I have seen and used many products over the years that claim to restore trim. Most last a couple days to a couple weeks, but the one I have continued to go back to has been Wipe-New. I used it on all black trim on my last car, and after a year, everything looked as though I just did it, very happy with the longevity.
Kinda pricey for such a small bottle, but a little 'should' go a long way
I used one of my applicator sponges instead of the mircofiber clothes provided in the kit
Taped it all up, don't want to get this stuff on the glass or the body paint. It comes off, but using a polisher and compound is just about the only way. (ask me how I know
)
And the finished version. Not the best picture but a definite improvement in the depth of color, and I know it is protected from here on in.
Lemme know what you guys think!
