Now, in regards to others asking about how the PD is holding up. I inspected them this morning, all looks well, no rock chips either. However, I am not happy with the amount of fading that has occurred. I'm sure it is perfectly normal and maybe I'm having change of heart with the matte finish, but I wanted to at least darken up the black in the paint. Here are a couple shots from today.

Here are the products I used. Simple Green (not pictured) and Armor All wheel cleaner and a boars hair brush. I did NOT allow product to dry, very windy today which made it tricky. After I worked in the product, I simply rinsed with water and let air dry. Then used the 303 Aerospace sprayed on the tire sponge, NOT the wheel and proceeded to cover the entire face of the wheel, then let air dry. I think it came out quite well, just not holding my breath on how long it will last. Once it wears off, I will be using the Plasti-dip glossifier instead for a more permanent gloss.

Once I did all four corners, I moved on the the b-pillar trim. Even being a new vehicle, this trim had been faded from the elements and I wanted to darken it up as well. I detail vehicles on the side so I have seen and used many products over the years that claim to restore trim. Most last a couple days to a couple weeks, but the one I have continued to go back to has been Wipe-New. I used it on all black trim on my last car, and after a year, everything looked as though I just did it, very happy with the longevity.

Kinda pricey for such a small bottle, but a little 'should' go a long way

I used one of my applicator sponges instead of the mircofiber clothes provided in the kit

Taped it all up, don't want to get this stuff on the glass or the body paint. It comes off, but using a polisher and compound is just about the only way. (ask me how I know :) )

And the finished version. Not the best picture but a definite improvement in the depth of color, and I know it is protected from here on in.

Lemme know what you guys think!

I was able to squeeze in at my friends shop this afternoon for some parts to be installed. I had ordered 5100s, but after 6 weeks of waiting, I cancelled the order and ended up going with a Zone 2" level kit. Strut spacer and new UCAs, Fuel Octane 20x9 +1 offset with a set of 305/55/20 Toyo Open Country AT2 Extreme tires. Pretty beefy setup now lol

Here are a couple quick ones before it started pouring. The finished pictures really don't do the truck justice, it looks so much more like a truck now. It rides awesome and really not much to complain about with how much louder the tires are from stock.

New vs Old.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Plastidip is alright, but personally lost interest in it after several months. It is durable, but I did have to fix two wheels on at least 2 different occations because the PD was peeling up. Most likely because of the way I painted it, but nonetheless a pain in a butt. I knew I was eventually getting wheels so the PD was just tiding me over until then. If we had a place locally, I would have got the wheels powder-coated.

Truck is lookin' sweet Scotty. Nice wheel/tire combo.

To tbond, Plasti dip is a great temp project, but it does fade. Did my badges and grill, have to keep shining it with product. I will say it chips less than the black paint that was on my grill when I bought the truck though.

Biggest tip I could give anyone trying to use it is to put 2 cans in warm water and keep the cans warm while spraying. It allows the product to lie down a little better. Otherwise you get a texture you probably won't be happy with.

My wheels faded very quick, I ended up buying the plastidip clearcoat and had to redo them, they were ok after that.

Haven't been on here much lately, nothing really going on with the truck. Just enjoying it everyday. Here is a shot from yesterday after our first snow fall :(

How do your open country tires perform in the snow?

After the first day we got pounded I was seriously considering buying winters for the truck. They really aren't bad at all, still driving around mostly in 2wd and if it gets bad out I'll put it in auto 4wd and have no issues at all.
