So I decided to delete my last build thread since I found pictures I hadn't posted and also wanted to give a better idea of how dramatically the truck has changed/is changing since the day I brought it home.

I bought the truck used since I knew I was going to lift it and make other mods. I got it with 11k miles on it for super cheap, of course after getting it home in the daylight and washing it I found out why. The front bumper had etched paint from the previous owner not cleaning off bug guts, the rear tailgate had a chip to the metal from hitting something and the rear bumper had a dent above the trailer hitch. The truck also had the worst swirled paint I've ever seen for a 2 year old truck. I'm OCD about having my paint looking good so for a few months I wasn't happy with how the truck looked, especially since it wasn't lifted yet. Below are pics of the day I brought it home and a week later after debadging.

The next thing that was done to the truck was getting the lift and new wheel/tires on. The owner of the dealership I bought the truck at told me if I got anything bigger than a 4" lift he'd void the factory warranty. He also told me it had to be a MOPAR lift. Of course he was wrong and lying, but due to them doing lifetime powertrain warranties as long as you get your oil changed at the dealership...I played the game. I think he thought I was going to get the lift installed at his dealership, another reason for saying it, he was wrong...I took it to the dealership my friend works at. I had a slight rub on the front passenger side so I had to cut off 1/8" of the lower plastic air damn under the bumper.

The next thing I did was have the factory steps reinstalled since I got tired of twisting my back to get in and out of the truck. I mow for a living so I spend a lot of time getting in and out of the truck. I also had Bushwacker Fender Flares installed that were painted using the factory code.

I have a full size spare with a matching rim I leave in my bed since there is no place to put it under the truck and also didn't want the rim getting scratched up and nasty. I decided to go with a BakFlip G2 in order to have security and also a low profile cover for the bed. The install was a breeze and took me maybe 20 minutes, it probably would have gone faster if I hadn't needed to thick gloves due to it snowing and being freezing outside. I also installed a shorty antenna in black.

*Just realized this was done before the fender flares got installed...*

As we all know, the factory headlights suck! I jumped on the OPT7 bandwagon and installed lows and fogs. While they are certainly better than the old factory halogen, they aren't as great as I'd hoped they'd be. That being said this is a picture comparing factory vs OPT7. I hadn't aimed the headlights yet, and fortunately my neighbor was cool about it and joked that he thought a SWAT team was lighting up his house.

Top pic is factory Bottom is OPT7

The next thing I had done was to have AMP Research Steps installed, and I'm so happy I did it. I love these things and they make the truck look so much better without having bars/steps always visible.

I don't have any pics since I am sure everyone knows what they look like and how they work.

Last week I had the damaged paint and body issues from the previous owner fixed. Monday morning I am dropping the truck off to be wrapped in matte black so everything had to be fixed before that happens. I was lucky enough that the shop filled in the front license plate holder holes so I don't have to have that ugly mess on the bumper anymore. So here are some before and after pics of front bumper and tailgate. The rear bumper was hard to show the dent, but was completely replaced.

Here's a couple pics of the truck after a quick clay and wash a few weeks ago before the bumper was fixed and the front plate removed.

Looking great so far! I just bought a 2016 in white and have been thinking of debadging it, not sure yet but I like how it looks on yours.

I think it always looks cleaner without them, I left the front and rear Ram Heads but other than that everything is gone. It also makes it a lot easier to clean the truck, no more towels getting snagged on them or water dripping out after drying.

Looking good man. Nice to see how it started out, and how it's coming along. Keep up the good work!

Thanks man, definitely ready to pick it up tomorrow with all the work done.

I get the truck back tomorrow and will definitely post some new pics as long as it's not raining. They are doing a lot of work and the wrap got done Tuesday so they still had paint, tint, headlights, smoking the rear lights, leather kit and audio left to do.

It was $3k, but the company doing it is one of, if not the best, shops in Indiana. I'm always willing to pay a premium price for good work. I'm sure there are cheaper places but doubt they'd do as good of a job. The shop is painting the fender flares and grill to match since they said you'd see seams and those pieces are hard to wrap.

I'm ready to see it too, it's going to be a long day waiting for them to call to pick it up haha.
