That is black tape on the pillars--they are painted underneath. The tape can be removed. There is a couple of threads about DIY removal.

I like that color. I've seen pics of a truck that color. The guy had it taking apart and painted that old copper looking color.

Love this color. In the sun it sparkles and at night its a dark burgundy almost black at certain angles.
