Lets see those trucks flexing.

The hill assist really helps keep traction on slick inclines.

I am confused. You think "Hill Assist" helped you pull up a hill or maintain / improve traction?

I understand it just works as a "invisible" automatic "parking brake" that prevents you from rolling backwards while you transition your foot from the brake pedal to the gas pedal.

In our Jeep, "Hill Assist" is sort of like a increased "Engine Braking" so it crawls down hill in a more controlled fashion without riding the brakes with your foot.

But, on Ram Trucks, it only holds you in place temporarily, and does nothing for getting you moving forward or aiding traction.

Perhaps you meant to say "Low Range" or "Limited Slip" rear end or something.

:hmm:

No I meant hill assist. Instead of rolling backwards and having to compensate and overcome that force and possibly loosing traction in the process.

A little spooky being out trying to find just the right "Balance Point" out in the middle of no where alone. But, anything for a good photo shoot.

Edit: Bummer this ended up on the "shady side", as I was losing daylight.

*Wonder if I can "manipulate it" a little in a photo program to more clearly duplicate how extreme looking this was in person.

After I backed it down a notch to avoid potential sheet metal damage should it slide off the rock face without rock rails.

Made it in and out without a single permanent scratch. :buffer:

*Note I had a cooler full of extra winch cables, tug straps and other various sections of chains and synthetic line, in the event I got into some crazy position that I would have had to pull myself out of. Perhaps foolish, but I rely heavily on the mere existence of the factory winch being there as a 'fail safe' , and usually am constantly scanning for anchor points within reach before I get too crazy.

Enjoy. :favorites13:

What is that "L" shaped thin bracket under the left rear of the bumper?

An aftermarket step or something ?

What year is your truck and what lift and size open country's are you running? I see your running factory wheels! Looks great. I love that look. Are you running wheel spacers?
Can you post up some pictures of your truck sitting on flat ground?

Yup it's an AMP Research Bedstep. Pops down about 8" from where it's sitting in that picture.

It's a must have for a truck with as much lift as mine.

Thank mans! I'll admit that it doesn't see a whole lot of off-roading but I do take it out every now and then when I have some time.

It's a 2012 3500 Laramie Limited. 8" BDS long arm lift with Fox shocks all around, Fox dual steering stabilizer, and HBS steering box brace. Tires are 37x13.5 Toyo MT's and yes I'm running 2" BORA wheel spacers.
I'll post so,me up tomorrow when I'm back at a computer. If you have Instagram check out my profile @brandonjansen. There's a ton of pictures of it there.

Ahhh, very cool step! Beautiful Rig!

I don't have a blog, but a Youtube account I haven't used in a few years, and I (obviously) ***** up a few forum boards with my pics.

Now that I have finally re-discovered where I hid my video camera gear, I plan on going back and shooting more Power Wagon and Samurai vids for fun.

You want to see something or ask something about the truck or area in particular, just hit me up in the "Power Wagon" section of the forum. I doubt any Mods or Admin would mind some more activity and fresh traffic on the site as long as it is loosely "Ram" related.

Or shoot me a PM if you are ever in the area or plan to visit, I would be happy to play "tour guide" and take you or have you follow along on all the good hidden, out of the way spots the tourists don't get to see.

Prerequisite shot. Nothing worse than a "Photo Thread" with no photos! :sleepy10:
