Here is my uncle James. Private First Class, marines. Left for Vietnam as part of Company B, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF. He left cor the far east on 14 December 1968. While on patrol on 03 Jan. an enemy position was spotted. During a firefight, he was wounded. After the skirmish, he was evacuated to the 1st MED Battalion in DaNang where he died as a result of the enemy gunshot wound he had sustained.
3 months and 23 days before his 20th* birthday.
Unfortunately, I never got the chance to meet him.
