Good info here. I swapped to a low profile antenna so I could squeek into the garage with my 6 inch lift and 37's. I was going to reroute the sharkfin inside the cab when I had time to get rid of the error and return functionality, but it sounds like I can get this feeler doodad and should be good.

How hard is it to re-route the wires to keep the shark fin inside somewhere? Had I known a stock height ram wouldn't fit in my garage, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. My pickup is going in tomorrow to have hail damage repaired, and the shop agreed to put the puck style on if I purchased it. I know there was a thread somewhere about this, but I'm having a difficult time finding it. I would really like to avoid more hail damage! Any help would be appreciated.

Correct. Only trucks with UConnect Access have the shark fin. If you swap in the lower profile antenna, you'll need a "911 fooler" cable as the truck shows an error if no cellular antenna is connected. The fooler is what people use when they upgrade to a radio that has the cellular connection but they don't want to go to the shark fin antenna.

I second that. I am in the process of upgrading to the shark fin antenna so my Uconnect will work.

Just beware. I thought I had clearance to get into garage at Casino in NJ in August. MY 19 is stock, not lifted. Went real slow to get under HEIGHT BAR and WHAM, just saying....
The MY 19 has dat Big *** shark baby on top...

Do the 5th gens have a metal antenna on the fender?

On the 4th gens its set to 1" or 2" higher than the overall height of the truck...a warning of sorts that you wont clear.

NO... Everything runs through Shark Fin

FROM RAM MARKETING:

All navigation, Wi-Fi, radio and SiriusXM tasks are handled by a new shark fin antenna – making the new 2019 Ram 1500 the first full-size truck without a mast antenna.

if someone has the flat puck that works with xm, and wants to trade for a fin I might be interested.

I'd like to do this mod too! What do we need for parts?

You just need the shark fin antenna and a another cable running to the radio. The Cell Bypass plug we have been using will no longer be needed.

Here are the part numbers:

Satellite Antenna 68276411AA
Antenna Cable 68148260AC

I get all my Mopar parts here, no one comes close to beat there delivered prices.

Hope this helps!

Just incase anyone is thinking of doing a shark fin conversion on a 2018 and ? year RC truck, it seems like the front mount sloped roof angle on a RC might be different than the rear mount angle on a 4dr truck. I just finished mine on my RC and needed an antenna base, a cable that ran the roof header / right A pillar and a cable that ran inside the dash to the radio.
I needed to change the cable all the way to the radio because my factory setup only had the 1 mustard color connector and I need the 2 connectors to run everything correctly.

68324469AA antenna base assembly
68148260AC antenna cable
68148258AD cable

Benny @AllMoparParts.com was the best at helping me source the correct parts in one shot!!!!

I am planning on doing the same, and bought the sharkfin and the header cable I believe, and realized that something was missing for my 2018 RC. I tried to put the second number you list above into search...68148258AC, but nothing comes up. Would you be able to confirm that part number please?

Thank for your help.
