Hey guys, I'm looking at moving to College Station here soon for school at TAMU. Can anyone tell me about the city or any parts of town I should stay away from when I move? Any good places to live?

If your going to attend A&M you might want to steer clear of Austin--LOL If it's not too late you might reconsider and come to UT!!!!

It was a pretty boring city to me, but I wasn't in school. Everything seemed like it shut down early. There isn't really a "bad part of town" that is more the town next door, which is Bryan.
Stay away from Bryan. You don't want to live there.

Stay way from Austin and t.u. and you will be fine. My daughter stayed in the apartments on Luther St W. and that isn't a bad area. And now she is closer to the school and Kyle Field off of Marion.

Howdy!! Stay away from most of bryan, most other places in college station its obvious where to stay away from by the looks of the houses and people.. and cars that are there.. It depends on what your budget it. Are you looking at an apartment or like a house?

Very cool. I finished medic school about a year ago and have thought about doing a fire academy aswell.

College Station is just that a College town. Nothing bad, but nothing great..

haha well my Girl is coming with me and THANKFULLY for meee she is an ER Nurse

we are just looking for an apartment. I found a few nice placed for like 1k-1100/month for a 2 bd room. I was looking at houses but a decent house seems to be like 1400-1500+/month we dont wanna spend that much.

and Nice T! ive been an EMT-I for a while now working here in Vegas, was in the Navy and was in Crash and Smash on the flight deck of a carrier, im ready to make myself a badass candidate and get hired on somewhere

I graduated from A&M class of 2012, hence the username. College station is a great town and I always like going back. With that budget you will be able to find quite a few great places to live in cs. And as far as bryan goes don't go too far in and you'll be fine. There are several companies in CS that will help you find an apt for no charge.
