That's definitely interesting.....I guess it could have a small niche in the market, interested to see how it looks uncovered though! I wonder if getting the mega cab in a 1500 would limit you to the shorter bed similar to the heavy duties?

Wonder what motor they're going to use. The 5.7 would be a slug with the added weight. I have a 16 megacab with the 6.4 hemi. I'm not sure if you're taking about the 5'7" bed as the short bed. My megacab has the 6'4" bed. I think you can order it with the 8' bed

Ya I meant the 5'7" bed (short for a 1500) as the pictures were of a 1500. I was under the impression that in the 4th Gens you couldn't get a 2500 or 3500 Mega Cab with the 8 ft bed, you are limited to the 6'4" bed, someone can correct me if I am wrong, I just drive my 1500 and drool over the 3500 CTD's when I see them on the road :roflsquared:

I'm guessing thats a test mule for an upcoming full size SUV. To me it looks just like a 6.4 bed crew cab config in camo. The real interesting bit is the fact its rolling around on 6 lug hubs/axles. Probably needs to support extra weight of an SUV body and still have decent tow rating.

Mega cabs have never been offered from the factory with a 8ft bed. There are company's that will stretch them and add a 8ft bed.

The steering wheel is from a Jeep or a car. As another user said, I find the 6 lug wheels the most interesting.

Looks like they sprayed it with plastidip, guess that stuff really is as good as factory paint.

Doesn't look right. A mega cab looks best on the larger platforms (2500/3500)... this thing just looks way too long.

Probably from a rattle can, no less!!

And I actually like the theory that this is actually an SUV test mule...it seems crazy at first, but it makes sense to an extent

It could just be a crew cab. The cover for the rear door handles does seem a lot longer than needed. I can't believe I didn't notice the 6 lug wheels. I liked the wheels and even went back to some pictures to look at them again.:Stupid Me:

I hope so. Would be nice to have another option for a full size SUV besides Ford and GM. We've had both and currently have a Ford. I'd like to see another competitor in that segment to help reign in the outrageous prices of the new ones.

That would be great if its the GM 6 lug bolt pattern. They have endless amount of wheels to chose from!!!!! Would be awesome..

Is it just me or is that too long of a wheelbase to be a people mover? I really hope it is, in fact, a MC 1500. I'd buy it.

I heard a rumor that Ram was possibly working on a fold flat rear seating, similar to the Stow-N-Go found in the caravans.
With that being a test mule, anything you can see now is either current production or just tests part that may not make production. Anything new for 2018 will still be covered up.
