Yeah. Well I haven't actually checked my fuel mileage on my truck but I think if I do the Efan upgrade, flowmaster muffler, CAI I'll be able to improve 1-3mpg... :D But I didn't buy a truck for fuel mileage anyway so I can't complain I love the power!

Well it is possible, as they are developing a V6 for the 1500, which is like the Ford EcoBoost, which, also, adds almost $3000 to the price of a F150. And, like the EcoBoost, the High MPG V6 is a option (it will come with the V6 and 8-speed trans) where as standard will be the 4.7 with the 6 speed. In the Ram, with the V6 one will have to buy the 8 speed, thus, it is going to be a spendy option.

IMO - you can buy allot of gas for $3000 (822 gallons to be exact)

Which'll get ya less than 14,000 miles with the mileage I'm gettin (17).
That's not even a years worth of driving.

It'd be neat if Ram would drop the 3.5 with a turbo and an 8sp in the Rams.:naughty:

That's cause it runs on hopes and dreams! :********:The more boys and girls believe in the 2013... the better MPG it gets! Lolz

I'd have to see this to believe it.

Saw this pic of the front end, kinda looks creepy.

Yeah, those are simply what the EPA estimates it to get. In real world driving conditions, I would have to also see it to believe it.

20mpg vs 25mpg, with 15,000 miles per yer, at $3.65 a gallon, nets you about a $2375 fuel saving over 5 years.

It comes down to less than $40 a month difference in operating cost.

Basically, you wouldn't be any farther ahead with the V6 until the 75,000 mile mark

I have a Pentastar in my 2012 Wrangler and there have been numerous reports of head failures on the driver's side. Typically it starts with a tapping and then eventually you get a CEL for a misfire and the fix is to replace the head.

The claim is that Chrysler redesigned the head and put it into production in June but I don't know for sure whether all the Ram 2013 models had the redesigned part. It would depend on whether there any old motors in the pipeline as the new model year build began. I haven't had trouble with my Pentastar except for some pinging going up hills.

A week ago I bought a 2012 with the hemi and 6 speed and I like the motor. The Pentastar doesn't have what you'd call a truck torque curve.

Supposedly the new v6 is a whole new engine for 2013.

the 25mpg is the V6/ 8 speed combo for the 2013 rams not the hemis.

I've been reading even the Hemi is getting "20% better mpg." I guarantee they'll put the sticker at 14-15 city and 23-24 highway.
