Hi, Thinking about buying a used 2014 1500 RAM Express. If I buy this truck, can I add remote start, back-up camera, and steering wheel radio controls? Thanks in advance.

Yes you can add all those options. There are several posts in the 4th Gen DIY section. You can actually add much more than the things you listed.

If you have an Ra2 or higher radio, we have a thread for that. If not, an Ra1 to Ra2 upgrade is practically plug and play, or go for the Ra4 Conversion...

Pay attention to the links in post 10

DIY: 2013-2014 OEM Steering Wheel Audio Control Install

DIY: 2013+ RA3/RA4 8.4" Radio Conversion Upgrade

Dealer install of oem remote start is about $400. You can do the install yourself (@$250) but you will still need to take it to them to activate the sales code/program the remotes which is usually about an hour of labor anyway.

Another popular option around here is a Dball2 remote start.

I've got a 2014 Tradesman. Just did the Premium cluster upgrade. It is a plug & play. Maybe 10 min to install & you go from he little 3" digital display in center of your cluster. To a 7" display with option to have quite a bit on the screen. Just be sure to make sure it is from he USA. Made the mistake of buying a canadian one. Which makes the speedo in Kilometers. You can run the MPH on the digital display which is what I am doing for now.

Why not just buy the higher level 14 that has what you want. Much more comfortable seats when you go to the power option in the higher level.

Probably won't cost more than the upgrades and the dealer visits to program them.

I have a 14' Express. I purchased it as I could not afforrd nor get approved for a higher monthly payment. I'm slowly... and I mean slowly... adding the little things to make the truck comparable to my buddies Sport. Now, would have buying a sport from the dealer been cheaper in the long run? Sure! But I had no other choice.

From reading articles, there is very few things from the Sport or even higher trim levels that cannot be added on to our trucks. Its pretty cool.

And it's fun sweat equity.

Thanks guys. I see a lot of used Expresses for sale, way cheaper than the higher models, I'd like a Laramie, but like said, I can buy the truck and add on when I can afford to. If I see an SLT or Longhorn I can afford, I'll buy it.
