Today was a bittersweet moment in my life. Today, I said goodbye to Scarlett, my 2016 Flame Red Ram 1500 Sport (moment of silence). Don't get me wrong, my 1500 Sport was a great truck. It behaved as sporty as it looked. Optioned out how i wanted, she towed my enclosed car trailer acrossed states and through mountains.
So why let her go? She could pull up steep grades and the HEMI came alive. I can live with the mid range RPM as its the sweet spot for that motor. However, living in Vegas (hot AF) going west to California, mid range RPM and extreme heat worry me, even tho she kept moving as long as no one stopped my momentum. Another reason is the 1/2 ton payload, which I was at every time I was loaded.
Now, I want to introduce Bane, my 2018 Granite Crystal RAM 2500 Big Horn. I know I would need to move up if I wanted anyone else to ride in the cab when my wife decide to tag along. I initially wanted the 6.4L HEMI with the 4.10 gears, but after looking and talking to people they convience me to get the Cummins.
Comparison:
I was expecting the ride to be similar, but I was off. The Sport handled sporty. Firm steering, quick take off, stop pretty quick... like a sport truck. The 2500 is a different beast. You definitely can feel the weigh difference in the handling and braking. Can't really comment on the performance since I'm driving like a grandpa until 500 miles. Anywho... time for pictures!!!
