2016 battery change, or just ecodiesel?

4 months before I sold my 2014 Hemi I put a $260 battery in, figuring I'd put it in my new truck. Then I spent $150 on a battery to put in my truck when I traded it in.

Well surprise my expensive battery doesn't fit in the new truck. That was pretty disappointing. Does anyone know if it's just the ecodiesel or the 2016's that use a different battery?

My old one is about 12" long, the one on my new truck is about 13.5" long.

well diesels normally have larger batteries so that might be it

Well that's what I was wondering. However my dad's F-250 had the same size batteries has my Hemi. It had 2 though lol

well yeah, it'll either have 2 batteries or one oversized.

The ecodiesel is small though so they might not have needed to go that much bigger.

Just stroll on down to the dealer and ask to see under the hood of a 16 hemi haha

A little bit of playing with auto parts web sites shows the Ecodiesel has a BCI group 49 battery vs. the Hemi's 94R. That amounts to about 50-60 CCA difference towards the size 49 battery.

Find a battery tray out of a 5.7, 6.4 or 6.7 and swap it out. PN 68095940AF

New retail is about $65 but I bet you can get a junkyard pull one half that or less.

I think my biggest problem was all the power I was drawing with the lights on the last truck. Plus my air compressor kept killing the battery lol
