I was at my dealer today and the service manager said the Hemi will likely not be an option in the 2019 model. Rather he said twin turbo v6 and v4 will be the engines in the 1500.

That's funny I just talked to a local dealer as well and he told me the Hemi will be available. I suspect all speculation at this point.

Hope they offer a normally aspirated engine in the lineup. Turbos are fun, but they break.

IM sure the current hemi will be an option. Then maybe two year after they'll either update the hemi or go totally different option.
Either I'm excited to see what's coming. I'm way over do to trade in my 09' which I purchased new. But there's no other truck worthy right now IMO

I feel exactly the same way about my '12...really excited to see the redesign in its entirety.

Hold your Hemi's boys a discontinued engine means the price will go up for all those who want a Hemi and will have to come to us to get one. (for the right price).:roflsquared:

I'd like to check out the pentastar with twin turbos. Just naturally aspirated she makes 305 ponies. With twin turbos, turbo lag would be hardly even noticeable and I'm sure it would exceed what the hemi puts out without much boost. The pentastar already has piston squirters and 6 bolt mains, so she is perfect for forced induction.

I would hope RAM keeps the Hemi. Ford has their 5.0 V8 along side their turbo engines. i think RAM can have the V8 and turbo engine as well, just maybe an update.

It looks like a GM front end Tundra cab and ridge line bed . Imo from what I see it not going to be good . The tail lights are small, ugly and look cheap.

I would be very surprised if they dropped the hemi for 2019 MY. That is just around the corner.

I also hope they dont drop the ball with this but i do have faith it will be a good design and a success from a sales standpoint. FCA has done some good designs lately. The current Ram is a hard act to follow though. Such a great looking and well proportioned truck.

Aside from looks i just hope they greatly increase payload capacity. Interior changes will be interesting to see too. They might be going with a whole new UConnect system.

Hemi is sticking around getting updated, rumour is 420HP for the HEMI, HEMI is also getting a HYBRID option, Pentastar is getting updated and sticking around but not turbo'd, new INLINE 6 turbo is coming.

2019 RamTech: enjoy the quiet
by Michael Volkmann on July 24, 2017 at 10:10 am EDT

We are around six months away from the debut of the next Ram 1500 pickup truck, coded “DT.” Allpar sources told us that many new features and items are being added to the Ram, to keep it at the front of the class.

Today, in our second installment, we can list a few more hot-ticket items.

DT 2019 Ram 1500

The next Ram is expected to have a major update to the Uconnect system that should please musically-inclined truck buyers, with the SRT High Performance Audio package — using 19 speaker drivers — though that doesn’t mean you’ll see a Ram SRT (and the name is likely to change).

Coming from its successful debut in the Chrysler Pacifica is an active noise control system, joining acoustic front-door glass to make the interior quieter, so you can enjoy nine amplified speakers (including a subwoofer). Reports claim that the remote CD player will still be available.

In the increasingly luxurious high-end pickup market, these features should help to set Ram apart — or at least keep it in the game.d574f1e6751cdc2a76cb564df0ddacd0.jpg

Dig it! Can't wait to see the 2500. I plan to buy a new one in about 4 years which should be just about perfect... just enough time to release the 2500 in that style, and work out the 'new model bugs'. :)

Thats a rendering based on the current truck. That's not what it's going to look like.

The biggest thing I am worried about is the 6 bolt wheels. Hopefully its the same circle as either the GM's or Fords so wheel options will be plentiful.

I always hate on the new bodies for the first 6-8 months after they come out, then I fall in love with them and have to have one. Only one I've not owned is the 1st Gen, but my Dakota is a mini version so its close enough!

My 16 is coming up on 18 months old.. These 19's better make me smile, cuz its going to be trade in time soon.. I'm excited, but wish those spy photo's got front end shots.. Too hard to tell right now..
