2500 Dodge Ram Mega Cab 6.4 liter questions

All,
I am in the process of looking for a new truck and ran across a dodge 2500 mega cab with the 6.4 liter. It has high miles on it but seems to be in good shape. I was wondering if anyone has any pros and cons about the vehicle in general. IE Engine, mileage, issues, etc.

I have 2017. Only negative thing about my truck is gas mileage. If I cared, id buy a prius. Other than that, I love it. The megacab storage is so nice. Can't believe I didn't get a megacab from the beginning

Some 2014 built units came with undersized piston wrist pins requiring an engine replacement. If the unit was built between June and October of 2014 I'd pass on it.

Otherwise, they are great trucks. I thoroughly enjoyed my 2014 until it's untimely demise.

is there a way to figure out when it was built if you have the vin number?
per the carfax looks like it was delivered for sale on 04/2014

The sticker on the door should say the month and year it was manufactured.
