I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 has 107k original miles with the 5.9 gas my old trans burnt up so I installed a new one. and now I still can't drive it
When I start the truck and put into gear(any gear besides park) the motor does . If I rev the heck out of the truck I'm able to take off and go down the road. And then I don't have over drive,
I don't have any check engine codes, and the od light is off. I have looked and looked and can't find anything on these issues . can someone please help me???

Fluid level is dead on. I just can't figure it out. No codes or anything.

Do some research on "limp mode". My 99 sport did the same thing. You may need to take it back in for some transmission re-work.

Mine started doing it after letting Valvoline do a transmission flush (that was a dumb decision).

Ooh, you installed. For warranty purposes, did you pull the cooling lines and radiator and have them professionally cleaned?
You may have old crap introduced into your new transmission.

this might not be it as I think it was fixed in 99 or 00, but there is a check valve or something like that in the trans line that the pump doesn't circulate trans fluid in park, only in neutral. so after sitting overnight, the torque converter drains to the pan and doesn't fill until it's in neutral. my 95 5.2 van did this and if I started it and put it in drive I had to rev to about 2500rpm to get the van moving. this isn't good for it and you need to either eliminate the check valve so the pump works in park. something worth looking into

Yes, as with mine it's habit to fire up my cold truck and immediately shift to neutral while I put my seat belt on and light a smoke.
