Ac has a mind of it's own

Have a 2103 express, manual HVAC controls. Occasionally I'll be driving and all of the sudden the ac kicks on. It's not on defrost, and the ac light isn't on but very obvious that it starts blowing cold air. Trying to watch it when it happens but near impossible. If I turn on ac then turn it off it will shut back off then. Seems to do it when it's rainy and wipers on but maybe that's just a coincidence. Anyone else have this issue? Also the temp dial isn't on the coldest setting so the auto ac isn't the problem

My 17 sport has auto climate and will turn on ac or heat to bring the cab to the temperature I have it set to. Even if it's 50 outside it'll kick the ac on if it's 75 in the cab and I have it set to 70. The ac light wont light up either. If you have auto climate that's all it is

Are you sure it's blowing ac and not just outside air? Could have a sticking thermostat

Yes I'm sure, last time I did it it was 60 or 70 out and I can also smell it. Actually happened today. Knob was halfway between coldest and medium. Maybe there's a switch or wire that is causing a problem? Sounds like I just have some type of freak thing going on
