Hey guys,
Has anyone had any warranty work done that required authorization from FCA. I took my 2015 RAM 1500 CC in for a misaligned right fender, my steering wheel creaks only when turning right, and a door hinge/roller that creaks like it came off a 1988 2 door Oldsmobile. I got the fender lined up, the tech couldn't get the steering wheel to creak (imagine that), and the dealership said since the hinge had to be painted it required approval from FCA. I took the truck in around 12-19-2016, and I called them around 1/12/2017 to check the status of the approval, and they said they would call me back but I haven't heard anything from them. Does it usually take this long, or are they blowing me off?

It's possible they forgot about you or they're blowing you off. Last issue I had with my truck, I called to check on the part they had to order after a week (it was only supposed to take 2 days to arrive) and the service advisor openly admitted that he completely forgot about me. Dealers suck, stay on them. In my experience, if you wait for them to call you, you'll never hear anything.

Yes. They had to take pics, submit a report and await FCA approval for a warranty repair on mine.

Took about a month and a half to get approval to change the steering wheel on my Challenger. The leather was cracking. They said it was common, but warranty stuff takes time because of all the people trying to take advantage of it

Hi HemiJames,

I'd be happy to check the status for you. Just send me a PM with your VIN and confirm your dealership, and I'll look into it.

I had the dealer adjust it after I showed them which way to adjust it, they didn't see it or chose to ignore it.
