Well I've officially had my truck in the shop more time then I've had it out. I got rear-ended about 2 weeks before christmas. Looks like it is about 3 weeks out still. Ended up having to get a whole new fram from the cab back, I think still have to go look at it in the shop. Everything cab back is going to be new.

I got new black oem projector headlights waiting to go in when I get it back as well as some other stuff. Tired of the rental truck. Some day. Damage doesn't look that bad from the pics but like an iceberg under the surface is where it counts. Never even got a chance to put on my permanent plates.

Glad you're getting new frame, cab back......that looks like it hurt. Hope you get the truck back soon and that it's better than new.

Man that stinks. Glad your ok. It'll be fine when you get it back. Not to worry. Frame replacements are done all the time these days. If the shop is competent, you'll be good to go.

Since this should be a liability claim against the person that rear ended you, make sure you push for diminution in value from the adverse carrier. Good luck.

Hopefully tomorrow is the day I get my baby back. I've been in a rental f150 for about 3 weeks and it has it's benefits but the downfalls outweigh for me. I can't wait to get my hemi back.

Are you making a Diminished Value claim with the insurance company of the guy that hit you?

Your situation is a textbook case. Nearly new truck that gets in a big accident is for sure going to be worth less than the same truck that wasn't in an accident.

That really stinks! I got hit in the rear on drivers side in June and it bent my frame also. Crappy part, my damage was only at 2800 dollars before the bent frame was found. They should be replacing the whole frame in your truck. The body shop told me they are not allowed to cut out damaged areas and weld in new sections into these frame. Good luck with everything!!

Stick with it dude! Hang in there! And like others said, once you get it back, don't fall into the mental trap of just wanting the whole thing to be over. Push their insurance for a check on diminished value. The other party is at fault, their insurance has to make you as close to "whole" again as possible.

The diminished value is interesting. I will see what they can do. They did the whole frame. I think the total was at around 11,500 in repairs. Pretty crazy. Shop seems pretty good so i am crossing my fingers that it comes out good. You never know how things will go.

Thought I would take a pic of the new bed liner untouched. Lasted about an hour and a half.

That's funny you should mention the trailer hitch. Yeah they dropped the ball on that. I got it home backed up to my trailer and looked at the truck for a half second. Called him right away and now I have to figure out when to get it back over or have them come to a job site to take it back to their shop. Time is not exactly easy to find when you work out of your truck. Couldn't believe they missed it. I was so focused on the bed and frame and whatnot checking it out I didn't see it either. Oh well, could be worse but disappointing.
