I have a 2014 with 28,000 and a dead battery.

Is the battery covered under the 3/36?

If so, can I just bring the battery to the dealer since it wont start (and dont have the means to jump it) or will they need to have the vehicle in front of them to inspect?

Had the battery in my Titan go bad and IIRC it was a prorated item so I had to pay for part of the cost of a replacement.

Engine battery is covered in full under 3/36. More than likely have to have vehicle there for full warranty documentation.

^^^^^^^^^^^^What this guy said!

There is another thread around here where someone wanted to take in a loose battery for warranty replacement without the vehicle but got grief over it and could not do it IIRC.

they will probably want to run diagnosis on the truck to make sure its actually the battery and not alternator not charging the battery.

Harbor freight has a charger with engine start for 50 bucks. Pretty cheap insurance for when your battery goes dead. You don't have a friend or neighbor with jumper cables?

I have roadside but always want to do things myself unless no other option. They must have a bad batch of batteries.

The dealers have a Mopar specific Midtronics GR8 battery charger they they use to charge/test the battery. If the battery fails the charger prints out a warranty code, which the dealer then uses when submitting a claim with Chrysler. The dealer will need your vehicle with the battery still installed in it.
