That's true, but only with certain options. Some do come in packages and can't be added afterwards.
So I do get what huntergreen is saying.
I was disappointed to find out that in order to get leather, I had to go with the Sport trim or higher.
Similar deal with the halogen projector headlights.
That's another factory option that can't be installed after the fact, unless you go with an aftermarket setup.
The Outdoorsman made more sense for me, based on my needs.
It's kind of annoying that I'd have to change trim levels to get something as simple as leather.
I did have a factory backup camera added after the fact because the truck I bought was off the lot and didn't have it.
However even that wasn't a simple add-on (unless I wanted one of those aftermarket rear view mirror ones).
It took them about 6 months to develop the proper software fix for UConnect before they could install it.
I'm not an aftermarket guy when it comes to things like that.
A tonneau cover or side steps, sure. But when it comes to the primary options in my vehicle, I want them to be factory installed and tied to the VIN number. I also prefer to keep the factory look.
I guess I'm just a little OCD that way.
